I think sometimes people get the wrong impression about “contest pros.” I know I did before I met a bunch of them… This is a video that will hopefully show some of you a different side of one of the big contest riders. Ryan Guettler made this edit of him and his friends hanging out, partying, and riding a bit too. Definitely makes me want to take a trip to Greenville, North Carolina.

that's exactly what i thought contest pros were like. riding and excessive drinking. Great role models for the kids!

Not that I think its alright, but why should they be forced to be role models for kids? They're just guys living their lives.

they are not role models for your life, but then most bmx riders are not.

Yeah but as a "contest" rider every aspect of your career is marketed toward eight year olds. All of which check this website religiously and mimic everything that you do from setting up their bikes to taking 15 zillion shots in a row (chased with your signature energy drink) and driving home. Like it or not you are a role model. No need to become a monk, but for a man in this position it is important to keep that stuff in the closet where it belongs. With grown ups. Why do I have the overwhelming urge to buy some device cranks?
