Before Austin became the BMX mecca that it is now, there was a small town in North Eastern Pennsylvania that held that title. Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was the place to be in mid to late 90s! They had it all, street, parks, trails, and a crew of riders who were already legends. Eventually most of those riders ended up heading south to escape the brutal PA winter. Bethlehem still has a strong scene but this is a look at when it was in its heyday.
“Joe Rich, Luc-e, Taj Mihelich, Butcher, Magilla, Chris Stauffer, Nate Wessel, Pat Juliff, Jay Lonergan, and other Bethlehem locals hit up the infamous POSH trails and street in this scene report filmed in the summer of 1997 – not too long before some of these guys made the move to Austin, TX. This was pulled off a S-VHS master so it may look a little fuzzy.”
