My Skull Fracture Video

In December of ‘03 I dove down a small set of stairs and landed with my face against the cement. It wasn’t a pretty sight—I know this because I’ve watched the footage from two camera angles countless times…
The result was mangled face and a fracture in my skull that kept me off my bike for several months. Luckily there was no permanent damage, and luckily I still have the footage. Oh, and in my defense, this was my first time trying an opposite rail on street. And I know, I know… it was too small to be grinding in the first place. Lesson learned—the hard way, obviously.

“Oh, and in my defense, this was my first time trying an opposite rail on street. And I know, I know… it was too small to be grinding in the first place.”…way to go though!
Next time trying a trick the first time on an inappropriate obstacle…what about a HELMET?

Well, you almost had the rail the first few goes…and then it slapped you around like a red headed step child. You should go back and show the rail who’s boss…but this time wear a skid lid. I know you can kick it’s ass.

People can judge you all they want for it being a small rail. But it’s the small simple things that get you fucked up. Everyone will learn that the hard way at one point or another. I did a stupid manual around a 7 foot pocket and my back tire hung up so I went to my face. Ended up in critical condition with a ruptured spleen and a fractured kidney and half of my brain swollen. Like I said you people think you’re funny with your jokes about a small rail. Sometimes BIG things come in small packages, trust me you don’t want to find out.
