Diamondback pro Nate Berkheimer shows you how to do a tailwhip over a dirt jump. Whips are one of the most popular tricks in BMX, and although they require a lot of commitment, coordination, and guts at first, once you dial them in, you’ll be stoked you put in the time and effort.

Lol, that is what I was thinking tailwhip is not so basic. I guess it seems like every kid is learning a whip even before things like suicide no handers. ITs cool to see the progression of bmx. 10 years ago a whip could have got you a top place in a contest. Now its just a basic trick.

  • TRAILS RIDER Says:

    i hate tailswhips
especially over a set of trails yeah is pretty hard to pull but tricks are not what trails riding is about

  • grahamcracker Says:

idk why anyone cares, street riders do turndowns, tuck nohanders and tables now, which are trails tricks, so idk why trails riders cant do tailwhips.. my friends do them super slow over 20+ ft sets and they look so epic.

i ride trails and the only “tricks” i do are like tables and 3s, but hey its your bike do whatever you want, just have fun. if your idea of fun is doing tricks at the trails, then who cares what the “rules” are, riding isn’t supposed to have rules anyway.

they are basic, anyone i know whos put a bit of time in and actually COMMITS to the trick has learned it no problem, 99% of riders are going to eat it a bunch of times and take it in the shins a bunch of times haha but you gotta put in the work.
