This is a beginner move that every rider needs to learn in order to roll out of 180s and other fakie tricks. Nor Cal street shredder Kurtis Elwell teaches you how it’s done.

*Fakie simply means to roll backwards on your bike.

  • donny stark Says:

what do you do if you have a freecoaster Mr. Elwell?

  • FatTony Says:

Pretty much the same thing except you don’t have to pedal backwards.

Just be careful when you turn around that you don’t try to pedal real hard forward if you have a lot of slack in the freecoaster. If you engage the freecoaster, then you’ll have to pedal backwards and you can use pedal pressure to slow down.

  • james Says:

I didnt even notice he was in petaluma. Ramp rats skatepark is amzing. It'd be cool to chill with him. I met his mom in hawaii and she said she'd get me an autographer pic but she never did

  • james Says:

It wont help you from getting better but it doesnt look as good. but i'd either practice rolling out the other way our doing a 180 the other way. it'd be easier to roll out opposite. just practice by hitting your house and riding fakie down your driveway. thats how i learned. you should learn in about 10 minutes or so

  • George Says:
