We have our own footage of this, but haven’t been able to get it posted just yet. However, someone sneaky in the crowd at Staples Center during Big Air filmed the Jumbotron of Anthony Napolitan’s double front flip. History was made tonight at X Games 15!

It was awesome! I couldn’t believe it! Anthony Napolitan is the MAN!!!!

  • Mike C. Says:

So did he not get 1st b/c he didn’t do a trick after that on the quarter? This was so amazing, he should have at least got a medal. Either way, sweet trick man, congrats on pulling it

  • simon r Says:

thats gold deffo! judges are wankers, x games is all fixed. corparate wankers.

  • big tom Says:

yea some kid did it in austrailia on a dirt jump and got broke but yea the judges at x games suck

  • panman Says:

making history with a trick like that is way better than a medal.

so when are we going to see napolitan’s how-to vid on double front flips?

  • tom bond Says:

chris jones almost pulled it on dirt but looped it

this was the ONLY great thing that happened in BMX BIG AIR.
everyone else performed inferior to last year and the year before.
How KR got a gold for doing the same stuff he did the last 2 years is just a dissapointment.
Mirra failed big time…with his ONE HANDED 360 FLIP…not NO HANDED…if it was no handed then the xtension was so small you couldnt see it… his riding has become irratic these past years anyway. always lands at an angle…
yes KR is a great rider but seeing regular no handed flips to flairs is nothing new.
ANTHONY NAPOLITAN was great… a true inovator.
giving medals to people who crash on 3/5 runs is rediculous.

why not give tonights VERY medal to SIMON TABRON right away for doing a 900 (20 years after hoffman did it)

all great riders but if your coming to the table with nothing new please dont.
give up your place to someone who wants to make history, not repeat it.

  • leo Says:

i think the problem was they all crashed on there banker runs and the contest just went from there because everyone of kagys and mirras runs were supposebly their safety runs and if they couldnt stick that they werent gonna stick their crazier tricks

  • shit-luck Says:

sucks that he didn’t get the gold

  • Rich Says:

If you dont reward innovation, then everyone will just stick to the same old backflip no handers and backflip tailwhips every year.

  • XGamesHaterJudges Says:

To do what Tony N. did and not get the gold is pure discrimination and the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ll bet Napolitan chopped a vowel off the end of his name. What does he have to do to win, not be ITALIAN?

  • faceplantman Says:

those judges were RETARDS he should have won

  • nacho Says:

my goodness a double frontflip!!! insane!!! this cant be wooo!!!!
this guy’s really crazy! i can’t understand how could he do that trick….well….very very very insane fuckin trick!

  • keith mcelhinney Says:

Anthony’s double was unreal! He couldn’t trick the quarter because he did that with a bum knee. There were 2 aspects to big air and he basically skipped one. His score was a little low, but he shouldn’t have won. Don’t think he cared though…

Kevin did a 19ft no handed flair. That is no joke. Yeah he has them on lock, but how many people actually do? Most everyone who does them on regular ramps barely extend them. He holds them. Give the guy props, it is awesome…

  • Ken Says:

He should have taken gold for that shit. If Travis Pastrana won last year for a single trick(double backflip) then Neapolitan should have been treated the same. Well congratulations Anthony and hopefully you’ll come shred Vancouver with us again soon!

  • joe Says:

the Australian guy didn’t quite pull it… he hit so hard he blew up. it was still amazing. congrats to anthony for pulling it! cutting edge

  • Sass. Says:

dude, that wasn’t last year, he did it in 2006 lol.

  • rob Says:

bmx is gettin’ crazy. duce front flip? damn.

  • OtaBMX Says:

The double front was cool and all, but c’mon, it’s a circus act. I wanna see him do that in a jump box at a local skatepark or maybe at the trails…
Build a 1,000,000 feet high drop and a 500,000 ft high jumpbox so someone can spin a tailwhip 87 times? or maybe a 54 backflip, or a 32 front? Given the fact that this is not what everyone else rides eveyday around the world, it IS a circus act!

  • Anthony Napolitan Says:

I learned it on a normal size jump. Thanks for the support everyone!!!!!

  • ben Says:

haha everyone in the crowd was booing the judges. even kevin robinsons wife was booing. he should have at least gotten a medal

  • warminski Says:

I think you should have gotten a medal, its been a while since i seen you ride and that was pretty nuts anthony. congrats

  • guy Says:

haha yeah and he won that for…. Best Trick. singular. lol the mega ramp isn’t a single trick contest. horrible comparison.
