Last weekend Tallinn, Estonia hosted the Simpel Summer Session. Even though rain caused some delays in the contest, they finished pro finals and from the looks of this video, the event was just about as awesome as the Simpel Session that went down this January.

I love shooting black and white travel photos so when I went to Estonia for Simpel Session last month I took my film body and a few rolls of T-Max hoping to shoot some scenery and a bit of street riding around Tallinn. However, the cold was too rough for most keeping the riding to a minimum so what we have here is a small glimpse of the town and the BMX lifestyle that invaded it for a week.

Sure there are a billion Simpel Session videos floating around, but that just means it was a really good event. This video is a bit different—it’s a full TV segment from a local station in Estonia that covered the event. It had skateboarding mixed in with the BMX stuff, but this version has been chopped to only show BMX. It’s a cool perspective on the event as a whole and even has some after party footage.

The Red Bull Best Trick contest was held on the rail/gap/wedge setup in the middle of the course this year. A handful of the riders threw down their most difficult moves during the 20 minute jam, but in the end Ty Morrow took home the 750 Euros in prize money with his fakie 540 down the gap to wedge. The ‘09 Simpel Session has come to and end, and for the second year in a row Garrett is taking back home the win to New Jersey.
