i hate to be mean, but i think the worst companies are the non-bmx companies, like mongoose, schwinn, wellgo, etc.
poverty is awesome, because they make parts that work, and don't cost a ton of money
non-bmx companies eh? I say your a dumb ass. what about the ogs of bmx like the mongoose motomag or the schwinn sting and the schwinn scrambler. that was pretty much the beginning of bmx with those “non-bmx” companies. Oh and poverty sucks. its good for a while if your on a budget. but ride a set of POW cranks for a while and you will notice why your an idiot for not have spent a little extra money for a 48 spline crankset such as profiles

i wouldnt say eastern is the worst company, theyre just taiwanese
poverty is intentional a non-generic co. that sells cromo parts that are at a mid quality and are more cost-efficient.
i like dans comp, but it sucks to put months in deciding to buy a brake system,,,and they sold the last of their demolition seatstay brakes.
i like dans, but i hate how their distribution system can turn lax and they run out of their absolute product
hmmm…. so eastern sucks cause they are taiwanese? well whats funny is that i believe poverty “shit” is made in china which by manufacturing standards is way worse that things coming out of taiwan.

maybe since you ride street, you should stop being so sketchy.
maybe you should stop sitting on his nuts cuz, if he even said that he rode street, he should ride as hard as he wants and not let the parts and their quality get in the way-and besides-im pretty sure you're SUPER gentle on your bike because you ride park…maybe you should take up riding sketchy and enjoy your parts for real
this kids a joke. you can still ride smooth and enjoy your parts on street as well douche bag. i ride street and park and im smooth on both. so it is what it is guess you just suck.

eastern frames are the worst bike frames ever!
my friend bought one (forgot the name) and he let me ride it
a week later i bent the frame from the front bar that holds the forks..
im a pretty heavy rider. and since then my friend lets me test out all
of his new bikes.. he's gone old school and uses a damn Gt. hasn't messed up on him and i drilled out the back to get some up to date rims n pegs.
also, fit grips suck.. they lasted me like 2 weeks..
bendable tires stink! i ripped the treds on my back tire
eastern handle bars are just gay!
mmmmm, i think thats all ihave to say for now..
maybe you should do some research before you get on here and make a complete ass of yourself. that front bar that holds your forks is also known as the head tube. and bendable tires are called foldable tires.

i jsut snapped my wombolts on the drive side after 13months (i'll still run them)
i snapped primo excel cranks after 4 years
crack the internals on primo pedals
cracked a federal frame in 31 days
carcked and twisted a hoffman D130 frame in 11 months
chewed out 2 odyssey cassette hubs, on the drive sides
bent the drop out my my odyssey dirt forks after 2 or 3 years of street
twisted n stripped my primo powerbites
and dont wanna coment on my stocker specialized vegas trx it wasn't even mid range i couse it was gunna break
so shit after 4 years they finally gave out. id say you got your use out of them. and your odyssey problems were more than likely operator error. riden loose is what wll cause that.

The Hubs Are The Worst Thing Tho.
And All In All. ITS ALL ABOUT AS HEAVY AS MATT HOFFMANS EGO!
GAH!

another douche bag in this forum. First ill go ahead and say that matt hoffman is the shit. Read his book you might learn that he invented some of the tricks you attempt to pull now. now with that being said lets talk about the business world. So for a company to make a stock bike its generally how cheap they can make it. you cant buy a 300 dollar bike and expect it to last as long as a custom built bike that you spent over a grande for.

Now copp2007 I agree with you, but you have to think of a few more things than just materials and labor that go into frame prices. For example the Aitken 3.5 tubing is custom made for that frame and none else. So that drives the cost up as does paying the bills for their head quarters. Shops pay about 290.00 for that frame and after paying Mikey, the welder and a fraction of their own bills per frame Fit makes a profit. Albeit, 400 dollars is a lot for a frame. I think that it is a travisty that Fit has some Taiwanese made frames but Chase Hawk wanted a frame that was morea affordable. Last but not least we need to remember that all in all, theses companies are in business to make money.
Fit frames are made from foreign materials, the pieces are shopped out (s&m doesn't have a laser cutter, or 3-d cnc machines and they most likely out source), and EVERY frame has different tubing and lengths and “super-therm” heat treating is not even a real thing, no heat treating company will understand what your talking about, also with oddyseys “41 thermal”. they use fixtures to build frames thus the metal is not welded while hot, so rather its pre-heat treat on the tubing and its welded cold which would be retarded because welding completely changes the composition of the metal, or its post which is heating the metal to a temperature, maintaining it and then letting it cool slowly, and this is relatively cheap. ESPECIALLY because of the bulk orders (fit sells how many frames again?) they're price is much cheaper for everything used to produce the parts.
AND! rider owned companies were meant to put the power back in the power of the rider, not create even more profiteers!!!
if S&M doesn't have a CNC machine, then how do they make their stems in their building?
I find what the guy says above to be very unlikely. how does s&m make US made stems and such with no CNC machines? and i like that thing how you said they let the metal cool slowly cause if you knew about metal and such you want the metal to cool naturally. If you speed up the process of cooling a weld. the weld and metal then becomes brital and snaps.

Well eastern does drill holes in there frames. and its only in places that material is not needed. other companies use the same principle. make tubing ultra thin where it is not needed. and my question for you is do you even know what magma treating is? or did you just read that in danscomp when you ordered your frame?

hehe well i dont know fully because i never got around of reading it for real….i jumped through it and i knew some stuff from before……but if i am not mistaken the metal in exposed to magma like temperatures wich changes the cemical compound in zhe metal making it stronger…..and btw dude i didnt order my frame from danscomp for two reasons: 1.i do not one their magma treated frames and 2. im from europe(slovenia to be exact. though i seriously doubd you know where that is)…..quite close to germany and i dont see the logic of ordering one from the states or whereever dans comp is…… please notify me if i got the magma treating wrong TY

Well, I guess 300 grams is not much but it IS noticeable!
For those in USA and UK, 300 grams is the approx weight of a brake, single cable AND a lever! (300 grams = 10,5 oz.)
so if you notice a little difference when you take off your brake, then it IS noticeable!
