In my opinion i think riding with no brakes is stupid, i know every one just wants there bikes these days to be light but still its stupid. I rather ride with brakes so i can stop when i car is coming right after me caues i know if u ride no brakes u can stand up fast enough and shove ur foot in ur bike tire
tell me ur opinion about riding with brakes and no brakes

I think its kinda dumb. Jamming my foot in the tire gets a litttle old. And + it doesnt stop my bike right away. I ride with one back break cause I took my front off.

OK. not all people want there bike to be light. my bike is like 27 and its light to some and pretty heavy to others. but i run no brakes. but its not because of the weight. it looks better and cleaner. and i can still stop without putting my foot in my tire. and if you run front brakes. that is just gay unless you are Brain K. and he doesn't even run them all the time now.

i ride brakeless 24/7 and the main reason is i got tired of adjusting my brakes or braking levers on falls, i am debating on running a front brake but im not sure yet.

RIDE BRAKELESS. 24/7
Reasons?
a) Lighter
b) Easier to manage… no brake levers to fix, cables to wire up, pads scraping the rim.
c) Cleaner, looks much much better.
d) When doing lines and other technical tricks, it looks much cleaner due to the fact that you normally can't keep stopping, it's kind of a now-or-never mentality.
e) Takes more balls and looks badass.
f) Cheaper.
g) Being different I suppose?
h) Different style of riding… find new ways to do old tricks. CREATIVITY.

i ride with out brakes, if u have good brakes they dont really stop u just go about 2 mph slower and wear out your tires, once u go brakeless u dont go back,. the only thing that brakes are good for if u ride trails, or for tailtaps

Then apparently you don't have your brakes set up right. I can stop so fast with my new Odyssey Evo II's, it's amazing.

i can ride without brakes or a with a brake it doesnt bother me at all. but everyone has there own choice wether to have a brake or not and when people say having no breaks is lighter then there just stupid a brake weighs hardly anything so man up.

I could see riding with just a back brake, but what do you do on tricks that require you to stall the front wheel? I see alot of people ride without detanglers too now, which seems weird beacause if you run back brakes and no detangler, how do you do barspins, tailwhips, fire hydrants, or any trick where you need to spin the front end 360? As for making it lighter thats just dumb, your brakes dont weigh enough to make that much of a diff. As for looking better who cares what it looks like? I want it to work. and as for being different…how is it being different when everyone is doing it? If you want to be different run front and back brakes and a detangler…….that would be different……

Personally i've rode with brakes and without brakes and i've changed them about 5 times now. Brakes are great for dirt jumping some park and bombing hills. no brakes are meant for street and park. dont ever try dirt jumping without brakes you'll fuck yourself up. unless the jumps your riding are in a straight line and idk of any good ones that are like that. but the point is it's all in personel preference and ur style of riding

Dude i always run no brakes 24/7
b/c well you say to man up and use brakes?
yeh right it takes a man to do flatland and freestyle without brakes…
and yeh for some ppl it does make a difference in weight, and for some it doesn't…
but even detanglers often need adjusting….and who wants to be stuck on tha curb messing with a set of brakes that you don't even need anyway…?!?!?!?!?

i dont wanna start no fights over brakeless and brake riding
but have u seen some of the gnarly ass shit that happens when breaks are put on
i mean shit
have u seen a brakeless rider go full speed at a huge wallride or tire stall
breaks are there for a reason
to keep control
but there are so many more trick possibilities with breaks
any of u breakless riders out there show a trick where u cant have breaks at all
and i'll prove you wrong no less i'll show u so many tricks that require breaks it will make your head spin

I ride with only back brakes, mainly because the front one's broke right off and I never got around to fixing them. I also never really used my front brakes anyway.

I've tried gyro, cables, and brakeless. I prefer brakeless. I don't have to re ajust brakes and it does look cleaner. But who cares it all depends on the riders preference. Who cares if someone has front brakes our gyro. All you should focus on is your bike.
