i run the jim cielencki Mag pedal. went to Home Depot and got some longer pins and now they work great. my shins are going to disagree but, oh well. also at 20.4 oz its the perfect compromise between weight and strength.

I've only ever rocked the metal ones, but the plastic pedals seem like they would work.

plastic worked for my friends who rode them until they started doing pedal stalls and grinds all the time
