i jus got new bars and want to cut 3/4'' off both sides and am not having a fun time. i used a pipe-cutter and went through 3 circlular blades, and am now using a hacksaw, finished my previous blade, and am just now wearing down my current blade and havent even taken out any material yet! ive cut many bars for myself and friends using the mentioned methods and it always worked fine, is there any other tool that will do it more efficiently?!

I'm sorry its really called a reciporcating saw

http://lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productList&Ne=9000&category=Reciprocating%20Saws&N=0+7+5001013

alot of people call them sawzall's cause you can cut just about anything you want with them

and they have a blade for every need

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productList&N=0&Ntk=i_products&Ntt=reciprocating%20saw%20blades

if you know some that does constrution work, they probably have one or know someone that does

you need a blade that has aleast 18 TPI(teeth per inch) to cut metal( forget what I said about bi-metal blade) 24 TPI will cut faster but wear out faster also

good luck Mr. Matthews

Take your bars off and put the in a vice grip, it will go much faster. Maybe you need to learn how to use a hacksaw correctly. Use the entire length of the blade back and forth.
