Tell us about your signature BTM frame… What are some features and specs that are specific to how you ride?
I designed the frame with a short back end length (the first to do it) so I could manual using the least amount of effort. Helps for hops, also.
You recently had your signature S&M Hoder bars updated. What are the changes and how do they feel so far?
I did. The very new Hoder Sky High are 9.5” tall, 31” wide and are available in a week. You need wings to fly.
Your signature Animal chain looks pretty fresh in gold. Did you get a signature chain have anything to do with that crash you had after you snapped a chain years ago and bounced down 18 steps on your head in Philly?
Had nothing to do with that, but that was a good one. Thanks for the memory. Nah, I did it because the 710 is the best. It looks clean and classic. And now it’s gold too!
Describe your bike for us… What makes it your ride?
Bars a little forward, 60 psi, chain tight—I hate that rattle shit. My bike is the biggest I could get it.
What are you most particular about on your bike?
As long as the wheels aren’t out of dish and the headset is tight I’m good.
Are you more of a change parts out as they go, or build up a new bike kind of guy?
Change up a few things at one time. I can’t ride a completely brand new setup. I like my bike broken in
Any bike setup specifics for pegless grinds?
I grind the inside of the cone off so the hub and cone don’t grind together and then turn into one, because then the wheel doesn’t spin!
My own words… If you don’t find happiness in the basics, BMX ain’t for you.
