Well the unthinkable has happened—Jamie Bestwick has been taken over by his good friend and riding partner Chad Kagy. It was a close contest all the way to the last run where Jamie Bestwick crashed on a double downside whip. Check out the rest of the highlights, full results, and photos below.

Everything looked pretty typical for a vert contest in this day and age up until the very last seconds of the contest. Heavy hitters like Zack Warden, Koji Kraft, and Jay Eggleston had hit the ramp and thrown out huge moves, but the big dogs like Jamie Bestwick, Chad Kagy, Stevie McCann, and Simon Tabron were at the head of the pack. Stevie McCann crashed on a tailwhip in the bowled corner making it impossible for him to get any higher than third place. Then Simon Tabron took center stage and nailed a flair straight into a 900, but it wasn’t enough to break into the podium.

So the attention turned to Chad Kagy and he delivered the goods under pressure. The only person ahead of him was Jamie Bestwick so he knew what he needed to do to take home the win. Chad started out strong with a huge flair and the next thing you know he’s landing a perfect double tailwhip flair straight into another flair. After that Chad stayed on a roll nailing combo after combo and came up with a solid 95 points to take the lead.

Everyone knows Jamie Bestwick can turn up the juice when he needs to so all eyes were on him. He came out swinging hard with a super high invert then ended up crashing on a double downside whip, passing off the first place spot to Chad Kagy.

- Jamie Bestwick did a downside whip to barspin and a huge alley-oop barspin to no-hander.
- Zack Warden did a bikeflip and a tailwhip catch tailwhip in both of his runs.
- Chad Kagy landed a double whip flair and an opposite flair whip.
- Simon Tabron did a 900 and amazing 540 variations.
- John Parker did a nothing air and was riding tonight just two weeks after having a metal rod surgically implanted into his leg.
- Koji Kraft does more variations in a single air than most people do in their entire run.
- Dennis McCoy accidently did a half barspin and scared the crap out of everyone.
