more bmx companies need to show all the geometry of their frames, most of them usually miss out their frames standover heights, ive only seen s&m and fly show theirs so far and it makes a big difference saying “low, mid and high” doesnt cut it in my opinion
So they have all the info, but the weight! Coming soon? Every S&M I rode either broke like a twig or the paint would get scared of the frame breaking, it would fall off. Made in the USA by illegal aliens. When are they available?
I heard Eddie talking up at 5050 about it, and he said that these were supposed to retail around the same price as the Fit Hawk frame. But that was a couple of months ago, so it could’ve changed. With cam’s frame what hub are you supposed to use, only 3/8″ back hubs I’ve seen are race hubs with cogs, no 9 or 10 tooth drivers
the standover is measured on a complete bike by measuring from the ground to the center of the top tube.people in bmx need to learn the seattube measure for frame height/size. this measure is actually the seat tube from center of the bb to the top of the seattube,is the actual frame height.
If you rode bikes from back in the day, you would know that light weight frames do break. That is why bikes were being overbuilt ten years ago. I have had a sprocket fold up like a potato chip, dig into the back of my leg like Jaws, and spill me all over the ground while I was gunning it. I’ve had a stem crack, had bars bend or crack, had seat posts bend, seats break, seen my friend crack two frames near the head tube (note the gussets on the Cardona), etc. That’s when I was a scrawny teenager. All you weight-watchers with your spider-web sprockets, jungle-gym stems, and paper-thin frames full of holes and cut-outs are crazy.
The guys at S&M build good stuff. (I own two of the strong S&Ms). But they have to give the industry what the people want. So you weight-weenies better be sure what you want. (Especially if you are buying that copy-cat Taiwanese stuff that makes you the guinea pig.)
you have some good points, think back to racing days like ten years ago, cyclecrafts with 3/8ths dropouts and what not.the frames crack, the dropouts fold when you run pegs, sometime snap off entirely.I know frames have come a long way in terms of strength with all the different heat treating process’s but they can only do so much.the s and m stricker 3.0,the neswest one.Thats a really nice frame from them ,just abot 5 pounds ,doesnt look like a scooter,14m dropouts.thats where my moneys going to go
Has anyone heard of the new Cardona frame having any problems?
I weigh 165 and ride big stuff, but smoothly.
I currently run an Eastern Grim Reaper frame which everyone says breaks, but it has no problems under my riding.
Think I should get one??

You can stick 3/8’s axles in a profile mini hub. And hell, the cam has CW graphics from the mid eighties. All you neon clad kids should be loving it!

FYI, that ‘dent resistant’tubing S&M/FIT tries to pawn off on the masses?
Proved that wrong with a bump on a wall. A bump that wouldn’t have knocked an infant over. =/

None of these riders could party and ride with Dizz Hicks or Ceppie Mays so Who gave them the right to use the Cw logo!!!
