“He makes bike riding look good. One time we collided head on and I know he did it with way more style than I could ever dream of having.” -Leigh Ramsdell

“While Taj may not have been one of the main innovators of our sport, he definitely helped pave the way for a new breed of riders. He’s shown that style and expression are just as much a part of BMX as the bike itself.” -Chris Arriaga

“Scary stunts with silky style; Renaissance man and enigma; made having a dog cool in BMX.” -Chris Moeller

“Do you remember BMX before Taj? I do. There were a lot of people doing good tricks, but with the stinkiest style ever. After Taj made his first big dirt appearance at the 1991 NBL Grands dirt comp, everyone everywhere was checking their style and height. People literally stopped learning new tricks for a while and went back to work on their old ones making sure they’re knees weren’t bowed and their elbows weren’t sticking out. Thanks Taj, for cleaning things up.’ -Jimmy Levan

“Taj started a legion and a look for BMX. If Taj began riding with an oven mitt on his hand, I’m pretty sure that others would follow. Taj is the Jamie Thomas of BMX.” -Steve Buddendeck

The Hoffman Bike Park in Oklahoma City hosted a few insane contests, and the practice sessions were nuts. Here Taj puts some style in a table in 1994.  credit: Brad McDonald
