Press Release:
After lots of thinking and many prototypes, we have received the final design for the Uno seat.
For almost a year we have been trying to solve the problem on the post moving when tightening the clamp. We tried lots of diferent materials. Everything available. But no matter how hard they were, the problem was still there. We didn´t want to just use a tube sleeve that will not only break the one piece seat concept, but also may create movement
between the seat and post so it made it really hard to achieve.
Checking the marks when we tight the seat, we realized that there are two areas where most of the pressure. That´s on the sides and close to the clamp bolt. So we came with the idea of using two aluminum plates in those places and it worked!
The inside tube gives an extra strength to the whole seat and also prevents the plates and post from squeezing.
Now is time for some testing and if everything goes fine, we´ll start production to have them avialble around September.
The weight is only 260grs. / 9.1oz. And you will have it in black, white, red, purple, and rubber.
Hope you like it!

wow. im not really down with the whole plastic seat and the eclat/khe light as fuck and goofy looking seat/seatposts. but i really like this one. just a really simple design. <3

These seat/posts combos are great since they’re lighter than the “old” setup, but they’re all for street riders that use really low seats, and, believe it or not, there still are some of us who prefer seats to be a little higher.
These combos from KHE, Eclat and now Fly, are all “hardcore street” seats, but they should be avaiable to everyone else… (well, maybe not flatlanders)
Think about it, if pivotal posts are avaiable in many sizes (even 330mm fo flatlanders!), why these are not ??

otabmx, see i think the problem would be well im not sure but i think since they are plastic they probably made them with a safe lenght do you get what i mean? maybe if they were any taller they would snap or maybe flex but thats just me.

yeah, I totally understand, that’s why I figured these combos would never work for flatlanders, but what I meant was to make them just a tad longer.
Dirt jumpers and even some street and mini ramp riders have something like 1 to 3 inches of post showing, and since KHE and eclat’s version has an aluminum sleeve on the outside, I think they could stand those extra 3 inches and still take some bashing.
And another thing to think about when making these combos would be to make some with the seat a little it “forward” to the post position.
Take a look, if this seat was a railed version, it would be at the very front of the rail.

actually flybikes is from Spain, so…

I’m pretty sure that the khe seat came in padded and unpadded versions, where the padded had a 150mm (6 inch) post.

I’m a big fan of Fly Bikes, but I think this design ended up being a little bit pieced together.
I mean they didn’t want to break the one piece design by using an aluminium sleeve on the outside of the post, but still they have used one on the inside of the post. Plus they’ve added two more little aluminium patches on the outside of the post. Well why not just use one sleeve, on the outside? That would be two less parts.

still looks fresh!the eclat is a little hardcore for me.

The eclat looks weird on a bike too. This actually looks like it’d look good on a bike. What’ll it cost about? Fly always makes clean light parts, but theyre always out of my price range. Like $100 for pedals? Not worth it in my opinion. Hopefully this costs about the same as the eclat and khe combo’s
