Are you really 46? I am 45 and I have yet to find anyone older than me at the local skate parks and dirt jumps. Very impressive shot! You can check out jonfaure.pinkbike.com if you want to see some of the stuff I do.
Yep…old man. Love riding. I went to your website and really enjoyed it. I grew up in Alaska and did some mountainbiking but not to the extent that you do. Looks like a blast!
The reason people think it is a big deal being in your 40's or older and still riding is because the average 40+ year old is "old" if you know what I'm saying (these people were probably "old" back in their 20's!). Its all about a proper diet, proper state of mind, avoiding injury, and always reinventing yourself (not getting "old") Just take a look at some athletes who are near or at the top of their game who are in their late 30's/early 40's; McCoy, Bestwick, Farve, Hawk, etc. If Bestwick is near 40 and currently hands down the best vert rider on the planet and only getting better……at what age will he go from that to only being able to carve a vert ramp under coping, 75, 85 ??? I'm 37 and love telling people who are like, "You are 37 and ride a BMX bike??" that "Yes I do and I'm very serious about it and hopefully someday when I grow up I'll go pro!" The bottom line is that there is physically no reason a person can't enjoy this sport for the majority of their life, so pace your self and know that you're in it for the long haul.
i like how it looks like your doing the abubaca on the big side of the quarter pipe but your really doing it on the 3 foot tall quarter pipe…..cuz the big side would be really hard! thats neat dude!
