LANEMEYER
Songs For The Big Screen
(Red Leader Records, P.O. Box 20836, Park West Finance Station, New York, NY 10025)
This band’s name may sound familiar because it’s the name of the main character from the movie Better Off Dead. It’s a good movie and this is a good band. It’s fast paced, melodic punk rock that you’ll want to play as loud as your stereo will let you. The only problem I had with this CD is that it only had seven songs on it. They do a pretty cool cover of U2’s “With or Without You.” I just can’t wait until there next album.

SWINGINN’ UTTERS
Brazen Head EP
(Fat Wreck Chords, P.O .Box 193690, San Francisco, CA 94119-3690)
The very first line on this six-song EP is “Here’s to swimming with bow-legged women.” You gotta love bow-legged women. Max Huber, Daruis Koski, and Johnny Bonnel can write some great punk songs, and it shows on the Brazen Head EP. Swingin’ Utters have been together for a while and I honestly think every album gets better. If you like punk then you’ll like this.
