The color is a one-off, right? How’d you settle on it and who’s your hook-up for the powder coat work?
I get over colors real quick, but I didn’t want black so I thought brown was the next best thing. My friend owns his own shop so he hooks it up.

Which parts do you go through the most?
I would say just grips and pegs

What’s the oldest part on your bike?
That would be my brake lever, which isn’t very old, probably a year or something.

I guess with Kiraly being off the team, you won’t be on this frame for all that long. Which Verde frame is next?

I am not too sure actually. I think Dave Thompson has something in the works for a frame so it will probably be that.

Describe your bike setup and how you like your bike to feel…
Solid with no noise and snappy brakes.

Ever foresee getting rid of the brakes or the freecoaster or did I just offend you?
I put the freecoaster on after I had knee surgery about six years ago just to mess around and do flat ground stuff while my knee was getting strong. I ended up really liking it and it’s fun, so it stays on. I wouldn’t consider myself a freecoaster rider ’cause I don’t really do too much with it—I just like the way it feels rolling out of stuff. As for the brakes, I don’t think they’re going anywhere, I like them. And no offense taken, Ryan, I don’t care if you don’t think they are cool [laughs].

How are the Demolition Plastics treating you? Want to chime in on the plastic vs. metal debate?
I am not really one to debate; I run what I like. But, [Jason] Enns and I were grinding this ledge one day and he was having so much more fun than me on it. He had an extra set and told me to try them out and from then on I’ve been hooked.
