Want to get your foot in the door of the BMX industry? Want to work with some of the best guys in BMX? Want to learn a ton of useful stuff from the big dogs in the business? Well, check out this opportunity to become our new intern.

We have to be super specific here to weed out people before we get bombarded with a million emails, so read this very carefully.

Here are the requirements, no exceptions:

  • Must be in school and eligible to get school credit for an internship. (California law for non-paying internships.)
  • Must be able to come to our Tustin, California office on a regular schedule two or three days a week.
  • Must be easy to get a hold of and communicate with in person, on the phone, and through email.
  • Must have at least intermediate computer skills. (Nothing we do is too difficult to learn, but the more you know already, the better you can help us.)
  • Must have good writing skills. And not just text message or iChat skills. We are talking about real writing with capital letters, punctuation, and proper grammar.
  • Must know enough about BMX and how we run our site in order to handle the job properly.
  • Must ride BMX and be a cool person to be around.
  • Must be outgoing enough to comfortably interact with other people in different types of social and work settings.
  • Must be willing to work for just the experience, without payment.
  • Photography, Photoshop, and video filming and editing skills are a nice bonus, but not manditory.
  • Here’s what we are looking for someone to help us with:
  • Maintain the Ride BMX MySpace, Facebook, Vimeo, and YouTube pages.
  • Post videos, products, features, photos, and news on ridebmx.com.
  • Keep in touch with BMX companies through email.
  • And possibly do other odds and ends around the office such as scan photos, get us coffee, run errands, shoot product photos, assist with photo or video shoots, write articles, and more.

This is a great chance for someone to learn a lot about the BMX industry, the Web industry, and the magazine business. You’ll get to be in the company of some of the best guys in BMX-riders, company owners, photographers, and everyone else who makes up the industry. This is not a photography or video internship, but there may be opportunities to learn about that stuff too. The more you put into something like this, the more you’ll get out of it, and the possibilities you create for yourself are endless.

If you have what it takes then we want to hear from you. Send us an email at fattony@transworld.net with “Intern” as the subject line. Include a brief introduction about yourself, let us know your situation, and tell us anything you think will convince us you are the right one for the job. The sooner you can start, the better.

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you!

interns are important for the workforce…it's called "on the job training"…moron…

plus, he could get hired on as a full time employee after…which is more important!

an even bigger bonus is school credit, which to those of us who actually go to school, is AWESOME

most importantly: it would be a cool job, especially for high school graduates.

don't say shit unless you can back it….ignorance isn't all it's cracked up to be.

If you have seen the ramps i've have built with nothing, in abandoned warehouses, along with the only trails in 100 miles area which are ruthless as shit. also how come no one is jumping on this? expect me to get my app out after i get out of work.
