Morales, Hawk, Roche & Dehart Quit Fit Bike Co.

It’s been confirmed that Robbie Morales quit working for Fit last night and shortly after Chase Hawk, Dakota Roche, and Chase Dehart quit the team.

There are also loose facts about a them riding for a new company called Cult.

Read below for official statements from Chris Moeller (S&M/Fit Bike Co. CEO) and Chase Dehart. We’re still waiting for a statement from Robbie Morales, so check back here later for that. Dakota and Chase Hawk told us they have no comment at this time.

“From day one Robbie helped build an amazing team for Fit. I had known Mike, Van, and BF for a long time, but I actually never imagined they’d ride for us…Robbie did, and he made it happen. He also introduced us all to Edwin, one of the most innovative and influential riders ever. Robbie definitely has a gift for spotting the best and most stylish riders around.

“I called Robbie yesterday to ask him about some more shady rumors I heard at Interbike and he got frustrated and abruptly quit his job. I immediately got a call from Hawk and Dak who also quit the team. Months ago I had been approached by Robbie to start a new brand with only the younger team riders, so this didn’t surprise me, but I was bummed to lose these two because I like them both a lot. I have no hard feelings toward any of the guys and I think everyone should do what makes them happy. So good luck boys, and new frame sponsors be aware if you need some Dak or Hawk frame gussets we have some for sale!” —Chris Moeller

“I want nothing but great things for Fit, and the team, and the whole building. I left on the best possible terms I could, that’s still family to me over there, I’m not losing touch or on bad terms with anyone, I’m just at an opportunity to take on something new and exciting with some of my closest friends, I just wish the transition could be easier. Thanks to Fit and the S&M building for everything they have done, I owe everone over there a lot more than a thanks.” —Chase Dehart

Please note: At least one person has posted in the comments section under Chris Moeller’s name that really wasn’t Chris. The real Chris Moeller responded to that and let us know that he will not be posting anything further in the comments. Look for official statements and responses from everyone here, and beware of comments being written under false names. —Mulligan

EDIT: Looks like we may be editing this post a lot as it is getting plenty of attention already. I just got a message from Trey Jones stating that he has also quit the Fit am team and has no hard feelings towards anyone. —Fat

Let's get it straight. Robbie Morales does not own fit Bike Co. I do. It has been a good run but we have a different view on how a bmx company should be ran. As far as I'm concerned he can take the whole goddamn team with him. Good Luck

  • dan Says:

pretty disappointing i reckon, and confusing, i was always under the impression robbie owned fit, guess not, now its not really fit anymore is it ? i mean, i thought they were the one team in bmx that was basicly a family, and that was a very admirable trait in this day and age, now theres no one left to respect except solid! wonder what all the sheeple and the cool kids are gonna ride now? What a mess!

Someone posts under the name of 'Chris Moeller' and automatically everyone assumes it is THE man.

Kids, no matter which bike company Hawk, Roche or whoever else rides for remember that their bikes will always look the same and they won't start speaking French, it's not a big deal.

Coincidentally, heaven is overrated, i did actually nail that kid in the ass then went bankrupt trying to buy him and the entire U.S judicial system out and if you play thriller backwards you can hear a prophecy by myself which predicts Taylor Swift would be rudely interrupted/raped by a monkey/Kanye at a crucial period of her life.

Good stuff I guess. Get over it.

If Robbie can man up and apollagize and deep throat my cock, he can have his job back and we'll get back to taking over the bike industry.

  • Wolf Says:

    wow, thats really dissapointing :(

  • I Says:

I cant belive this!!!! fit was the coolest company with the sweetest team.

now i don’t know what to think???

  • fuckfatrobbie Says:

Who cares….. Fat Robbie sucks anyway and I have no idea how his fat ass managed to make it this far in the industry. When the first year of the Dew Tour came through town, I was working at a shop and he called up looking for some hub parts and some handlebars. I helped the guy out and sold the stuff to him at cost, big mistake. One of my good friends had broken a six month old FIT frame about a week earlier. The frame happened to be at the shop and I showed to Robbie, he held it with his own two hands and said "no problem, I'll take care of it." Sure enough, I called his fat ass and left messages, sent emails and finally he dumped the problem on the warranty guy at S&M and nothing ever came of it other than a new shop stool that I made out of the broken frame. I really do hope that I don't ever have to see Fat Robbie in BMX again. Good luck to the rest of the guys that followed him though. I truly do wish them the best.

  • fuckfatrobbie Says:

On another note, first Chris, now Robbie, who's next Shawn??? Makes me wonder what Moeller is doing over there. They sure aren't making any good product. I've seen more S&M/FIT frames and forks break and bend than anything else in the industry in the last 6 years.

    Good luck guys.

  • vth Says:

    this is so weird

  • BMX Says:

You are so fucking annoying, shut up already.

  • Brandon B Says:

im not to excited about dak and chase d leaving fit, i could care less about robbie and hawk, but its kinda like a dissapointment because fit's like the best team but now its just gonna suck except for eddie cleveland and mike aitken, but oh well maybe the dak frame will go on sale!

  • huh? Says:

maybe that is because they sell more frames than anyone else. and what do you mean by: first Chris, now Robbie, who's next Shawn???

  • greg knip Says:

    yaaa im glad!

  • CPD Says:

WTF/?? very strange…. Homan had an odd look on his face in the interbike pictures, wonder if he knew what was to come….

Can we have some more elaboration from Robbo please?

  • Go ride your bmx Says:

I thought you all were a bunch of bmx riders…shouldn't you be out riding your bikes instead of gossiping like a bunch of chicks? All the negativity is pointless. It's just a new bike company….all good things come to an end at some point. Accept it and move on…

Best of luck to Morales, the riders, & Chris

  • dave Says:

you are all dumb, cult isnt even real YET, the only cult thing in the world is the hat chase is wearin

  • Steve Says:

sux for u man becuz ive sent him frames that broke for me personally and talked to me personaly and he has helped me out alot

  • fuckfatrobbie Says:

Chris Stevenson (the S of S&M) is no longer there, Fat Robbie is now gone, who's next, Shawn McKinney? The place went to shit when Chris left and the oh so horrible black bike came out.

  • jasperw4 Says:

stevenson just worked there. the "s" was greg swingrover and he left a long time ago http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/info/181/. as for "what moeller is doing over there" the answer is: running the most successful continuously rider owned company in the industry for the last 20 years.

  • hahabitch Says:

its cause they all hate eddie C.

  • berlybmx Says:

wtf :( gayy, pretty sure fit became famous coz of the 2 chases, and dak. n now there are gone, i guess is all up to eddie homan n aitken

  • wisdom Says:

well first off i would like to say?

i am a big fan of any sucessful and respected company, all in all when it come to robbie and moller all of the facts have not all been add up. it will take time for these people to come forward and express thier outlooks and veiwpoints on the matter. we should just be vigil and greatful for a great run by the moller firm. we had a great product that was respected by the bmx communite and moller was given a amazing cash cow, if used propery will still have the repsect and devotion to it fans just like s&m.

all in all it is a loss and a win ,win….but, what do i know im just a design and graphics major but i do read a substancial amount of marketing book this and last quarter.

  • anthony Says:

i getting the feeling this was planned way ahead of time, this might be the start of something totally awesome, and just cuz dak, hawk, and dehart are out doesnt mean aitken and the rest of fit isnt gonna keep the name alive, theres nothing wrong with change and doing new things for yourself, thats wat there doin, u either support them or be a hater, but there still gonna ride sick, whether u like it or not!

  • anonomous Says:

    chris moller jewed robbie

Pretty much Im saying fuck it with all major brands, your all clowns anyways. Support Subrosa, Locally owened Bitches!!

  • brennan brown Says:

good luck kids. any and all of you ought to get some phone numbers of some former young badass L.I. kids (Sev's locals), and see how far robo's "loyalty" goes beyond $. you can extend that beyond his local brethren. i can think of others who were "friends" left in his wake of shameless self-promotion. good luck to you all. truly some of the best have been no less than stolen from moeller, who has actually brought some good to the sport not in the name of stroking his own ego. take into consideration where s&m came from (if any of you kids really know), and where it is now and you should be in awe. robbie was merely clinging to the teet. how many chances did chris give him? remember the post S&S days rob-o? i hope he's fat and happy…oh wait, i hope he's happy.

  • loyal Fit bike rider Says:

the riders think they are irreplaceable. They forget they are only where they are because of a bike company that put them there…. Get some loyalty, who pays the bills!!!…. NEXT

  • oneT Says:

After being Standard 'Army', Robbo was in at T-1 with Joe and Taj, then quit T1 (after some pretty strong 'loyalty-type' statements) because they couldn't get enough of "his" frames (the Progression) manufactured. After knowing how difficult it is to get volumes of US made frames built, he went to Moeller and thrashed out a deal–he swapped his brand ownership in return for S&M's manufacturing and marketing hook up, keeping the TM and brand identity roles. And as you may have noticed, the profit from slightly higher prices on FIT stuff, despite it being exactly the same materials and labour as S&M. I don't know the detail of what's gone here, but before anyone slates Moeller they should reflect on where Robbo and FIT would've been without him, and consider the reasons why he would've made a deal with FIT in the first place ; BUSINESS. And if Morales wants to go a different direction, with the youngers of the FIT team, well that's fine too ; it's called BUSINESS. Anyone can chat about 'loyalty', 'brotherhood', 'brethren' etc but the bottomline is you gotta make a dollar so that you can do the things you want to do, with the people you want beside you.
IMHO Morales has spat the dummy out because he can't have is own way–not really that big a surprise if you take history into account. But what do I know? Next…

  • hammz Says:

Whoa Mr. Moeller, that's ain't cool. Fit wouldn't be where it is today without the talent that put it there. The talent that Robo put together.

honestly does it really matter who the fuck is on a team??? pretty sure most of the real riders around couldnt give a fuck, also pretty sure chase and dak and all that would still be doing what they do with or without a sponsorship, its all just bullshit really, robo quit, they are his mates, they went with, who gives a fuck, everyone still rides, you kids need to stop jumping on whos cools bikes and just fucking ride, every single fit apart from the lurch has identical gemetry 21 tt 75 head tube, 71 st (with the exception of the eddie c which is 69) 13.65 stays……who gives a flying fuck

so all you kids wanting a dak, or a chase d, wil just have to settle for an aitken which they are all modelled off anyways?

  • CPD Says:

Its just strange to see that a major team would all of a sudden lose a quarter of their team without much explanation. A better explanation would be appreciated, its very odd considering these new complete signature bikes just dropped a month ago. Honestly, BMXers are getting to be a dime a dozen these days.

  • kaiser Says:

not to mention inman…barone…garrett…and others. the flow team is also good

  • brandon Says:

yeah you would know fag,, and seriously that had nothing to do with anything

  • marvin Says:

It’s like dejavu 8-10 years ago Shaun Butler & Kris bennet did the same shit after thier signature frames came out for S&M. The Fit team is so hugh and it probably needed some fat trim off anyways! At 44 something Moeller could probably still ride as good as most of you out there. Also “f…fatrobbie” Stevenson was NEVER the S in S&M it was another dude . Call FBM up and ask him yourself! Like Moeller, Robbie is in the bike game to make money he also tells people what they want ot hear so you should of just dealt with the warrenty department instead of jockin’ robbie’s nuts and gettin nuthing in return. The Cult is a rock group and i think both Chase’s, Dak and robbo are going to be roadies for them and haro or trek will be making their bikes!

  • yo momma Says:

your video sucks put some clissic rock in there and go ride some trails

  • cop it Says:

fit is gone.. aitken is disabled.. homan n bf getting old and will just give up riding and eddie .. well.. goodluck getting a good team with one rider

still remember when turbulence came out and edwin was on it
good time for sure, he was so creative and such a badass
    nowadays is all about trends
kids want their bikes to look like eddie cleveland's and do tuck no handers down stairs n stuff
back in the day everyone wanted to ride like joe rich or taj or rooftop but somehow it wasnt gay!
i used to watch nowhere fast nearly everyday i wish the internet didnt ruined it so badly

  • mike b Says:

  • flynn Says:

robbo has to do something new all the time. lets see standard, t1, fit, and maybe cult then it will be something else, old men cant sit around we need to do new stuff to not get board of the monstar that bmx has become. in the old days you could ride with your friend and that was enuff. now its about being a name and trying to be off porps road fools 1. kids it your time now put on your nikes wonder what airwalk ones where like to wear. ride other peoples dirt jumps and not put in any work. do a foot jam candy bar in spray on jeans and just live it up! god im an old cunt.

  • flynn Says:

they are and like every family they all move away get on with there shit and meet up when someone has a kid or dies.

  • sal mota Says:

ok i think fit is getter worse. they just came out with a billion new bikes. they just wanted to have alot of bikes so they can sound good. i just got a tech 1 and it rides and feels excactly like my old park signature. i still love fit but tey need to do something about their bikes

  • Collin Says:

And what "locally owned" supposed to mean? I live right by them so its pretty fuckin locally owned to me…

  • Ian Hopper Says:

You all act like the world is coming to an end. This probably isn't going to effect more than 2% of the people that are making a big deal about it. Go listen to "Let It BE." and stop crying. Just ride your fucking bike.

  • CBC- Cunt Bike Co. Says:

first robbie leaves T-1 to help Fit. Next Standard isn't cool anymore. Then Taj leaves T-1 or ride for Giant. Now Robbie leaves Fit. What the hell is wrong with people? No loyalty. Everyone needs to do their "own thing." Holy hell. i heard Matt Hoffman is leaving Hoffman Bikes to start Cunt Bike Co.

Ture, the cult stoner kid image is a fad hopefully on it's way out. i hope the fag-style boat loafer shoes follow them right out the back door as well.

  • MOTOMOM2 Says:

Moeller is at it again..I called my son Jimmy about this and he said Robbie told him months ago he got fired…so all this stuff is just another lie about him quitting…Moeller would fuck his grandmother…

  • UtahJake Says:

I wouldn't know about that. I know Mike and Robbie are really good friends. When I saw this I actually wondered if he wants to stay on Fit Still…..

  • UtahJake Says:

    That is Funny.

  • UtahJake Says:

I just wanted to say that Chris King is the man.

  • Grant Says:

  • The Dude abides... Says:

This is the best comment I've seen in this whole thread. Signing off now to go ride. Thanks, man.

  • I-HATE-FIT-NOW Says:

wow wtf. fit is gunna suck without them riders.

  • Himjill Says:

Hey motomom, go check what Moeller did for BMX over the last 20 years. He was the 1st rider owned company after Haro. He's a business man, a rider, and a success. and I don't think his grandmother would like that talk.

  • thiscommentisfunny Says:

    hahahahahahahaha

  • kyle h Says:

this is all too familiar…remember rob-o and t-1? and the frame called the progression? i think bmx nees to disown robbie all together. bmx does not need skateboarding and the latest trends

  • chris Says:

yo everyone just chill out. its just a couple of guys quiting a teaema nd wanting to go somewhere else. bmx does go well with controversy.

  • Braaap! Says:

  • brendan Says:

  • Brendan Says:

respect paid man, and fully deserved, anything that comes out of that machine shop comes from the highest standard and quality of manufacture, anybody who disses Fit/S&M have fun on your eastern, don't blame me when your fancy little cut up frame falls apart.

  • Brendan Says:

100% agreed and fully backed man, I think though that Hawk has some very innovative style in all aspects of riding and as far as Dak, fuck that little hobbit motherfucker. Go tell that to God there Dak haha

  • Brendan Says:

S&M was the ORIGINAL family, don't forget your roots if you're going to ride a bike.

  • Brendan Says:

Jewed means you're a filthy hebrew with a foreskin in your mouth haha
    anybody gotta light?

  • BRL20 Says:

I am not stoked on a company called Cult

  • Turtle Says:

I think you should all just be happy for everyone involved. new blood on fit, new company, and this just means that we can all sit back and enjoy progression of companies as well as the riders. woah! crazy idea right? everyone just needs to shut up and be positive.

  • Moe Says:

  • john Says:

StayFIT was the WORST bmx movie I've ever seen. It is seriously a horrendous excuse for FIT to make money. I own a FIT bike, LOVED FITLIFE, enjoyed Summer of FIT alot. …. STAYFIT is GARBAGE!!! I wasted 16 bucks on it because I figured FIT could do no wrong… no I was way off. The editing and song selection ruined the entire movie. If I were one of the bad ass riders on FIT I would not be proud of it at all. the riding yes. the movie itself… they shoulda just put all 30 commercials on the dvd in order and it would've been 100 times better. anyone else feel like they've been taken advantage of?

  • BMX COMPANYS SUCK Says:

Thats why you should only ever download the DVD for free online..All BMX companies are money grabbing CUNTS..

I bought a certain big name Crank.after hopping down an 8 set the fucking things failed (welding)
After hassling the company for 6 weeks by email (I am in the UK) i never even got it warrantied and i am not paying another £50 for a replacement arm

WTF, i pay £140 for a crank that fails straight away and they do not accept its a manufacturing defect
all BMX companies are money grabbing CUNTS..

    FUCK THEM ALL

I am going to buy some inline skates……

  • Tony Hawk Says:

hahahaha…You should start skating you tossers
