Know Your Roll – Kink SXTN Frame

Over the last few years, the world of BMX has been innudated by signature frames from far too many riders; in fact, there have been so many different pro-endorsed models that many brands have taken to giving their riders signature colors as opposed to completely new designs, in an effort to make sure their newest pros still get some shine from consumers. Getting your own frame with geometry and features specific to your liking means you’ve proven yourself to be in the upper echelon and have demonstrated your worth to your brand and your fanbase. Sean Sexton earned that status years ago, and proof of that is a new batch of SXTN frames from Kink with a bonus paint scheme for the fall of 2016.

Every frame in the Kink lineup, signature frame or not, has their own specific features that make them unique, but thankfully, they’re all constructed with 100% 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing, so you know no matter which frame you choose will be built to last. The SXTN frame features fairly moderate geometry compared to many other street-orientated frames, with a 75 degree head tube, 11.75″ bottom bracket height and a rear end that measures up at 13.65″ slammed. The rear triangle of the SXTN features EBS removable brake mounts and investment-cast dropouts with integrated chain tensioners, which can also be found on the Titan and Mudrunner frames. Unique to the SXTN is the Arizona state flag seatstay bridge, but even more important to point out is the SXTN’s ovalized down tube. Aside from providing a different look than standard tubing, the ovalized downtube provides extra strength and dent resistance without adding any extra weight, which shouldn’t be much of a concern anyway with the SXTN tipping the scales at just under 5lbs.

The Kink SXTN Sean Sexton signature frame is available at Dans Comp and your favorite neighborhood Kink dealer. The SXTN frame is available for $309.99 in either ED black, matte white, matte raw or the newest colorway, matte slate green, with size options of either 20.5″, 20.8″ or 21″. The SXTN complete bike is also available for only $599.99, and if you want to know what that’s all about, check out our previous KYR spotlight. For more info on everything Kink, head over to www.kinkbmx.com now, and stay updated on whats new with the team on Instagram at @kinkbmx.
