Dear Josh,
Hey, what up, Harrington? I saw you ride at the Vans Triple Crown here in Salt Lake City. Your style is freaking awesome, dude. I remember at one point that you bent your handlebars and then bent them back with the help of some ramps. You just kept riding. To me that was totally crazy, because you go so high and to break your handlebars from that height must hurt. Are you always crazy like that or was it just at that contest?
Ismael Medina
Bountiful, Utah
Thanks for the compliment. I remember that instance. I guess sometimes you can fall from high and not get hurt “somehow.” I wanted to do my second run so I just bent the bars back and kept on riding. On a normal day I would probably do the same thing, but put new ones on when I got home. Gotta keep it rollin’, though.
Dear Josh,
How does it feel to be a pro rider these days? How does it also feel to be one of the tallest riders in BMX? Do you have any plans to move to Australia and open up a Meat Pie shop in Shailer Park?Corey Bohan
Brisbane, Australia
It rules to be a pro rider, get to travel the world, and have a great time! You should know about that after winning the X Games, Corey. It feels great to be one of the tallest riders in BMX, just looking down on everyone! When I slow down with this BMX stuff, I plan to move to Wolfman Park in Shailer Park and start pumping out the meat pies!
Dear Josh,
Since you were living and riding with Corey Bohan in Salt Lake, does that automatically make you get all the ladies and ride smooth as sweet butter? How does that not rub off on you unless you shower with degreaser?
Josh Dey
Thornton, CO
Yeah, Bohan just got sponsored by WD-40, so he probably needs some degreaser.
Dear Josh,
Does being around such a pro community encourage you to learn bigger and better tricks or do you feel that it all comes in time? What do you Greenville locals think about us Aussies coming over there and ruling?
Dean Lofts
Melbourne, Australia
I think riding with amazing riders every day helps everyone. It’s the best when everyone starts shredding and you get motivated. You kids keep ripping; just remember what country you want to come to… Just kidding!
Dear Josh,
What got you started in BMX? How old were you?
Esteban Saavedra
Rockford, IL
I got started riding by just riding my bike down by the baseball field, which was beside the skatepark. I always thought that the skatepark was much cooler than the baseball game. One of the guys at the skatepark told me to get a bike and they would show me some stuff. That weekend I got a bike and was hooked.
Dear Josh,
Some quick questions: Is it harder to manual and do other stuff when you’re taller than the average BMXer? Does riding ever interfere a lot with other facets of life that are more necessary, like work, girlfriend, family, and school? And don’t say, “Nothing is more necessary than riding.” I know riding is very important, but… you know.

Doing manuals just depends on your natural balance. I’m living a dream and believe that everything happens for a reason. I get to see my family more than the average kid that goes off to college because I live in my hometown. As for that other stuff, I just go with the flow.
