While at the CFB in Kona, Florida for issue 62, my camera locked up as the shutter had blown into pieces (I’m aggressive).I borrowed Keith Mulligan’s camera when he wasn’t shooting for the rest of the contest. On the same trip I went to Tampa and shot photos of Dave Jacobs riding in the ghetto. A bunch of little kids swarmed around us and when Dave crashed, one of the kids immediately ran up and said, “Damn, bitch, you got knocked the f*** out!” Keep in mind the kid was no older than 12.

In issue 48 there’s a quote from Ryan Nyquist that said “This house rules, they always have candy,” regarding Chad Kagy’s house. Four years later there’s still always good candy at Chad’s house, and he doesn’t even live in the same state. I recommend going on days when he’s got jellybeans.

There’s a photo in John Heaton’s interview in issue 63 of John doing a fufanu on a big railing at the Primo ramps. Just as I was about to shoot the photo, Jay Miron said, “If you miss this, I’ll kick your ass.”
