“BMX handlebars have been on a wild ride. First they were strong and heavy, then they were small and weak. Fluted and flat came next, followed by seven, ten, and later 13 butts. Four-piece bars enjoyed a brief following ten years ago, and this design is making a comeback. In flatland it never left. Around two years ago somebody—probably an S&M rider—stopped grabbed a pair of Slam Bars and got the whole bar race started all over again. Today the most popular BMX bars are at least eight inches tall with tight bends, a nice back sweep and a crossbar. Butting remains a big part of the arms race, but has anyone really cut a pair down the middle to see if all the hype is really true? We haven’t. Jeremie Infelis chose the geometry of our multi-butted full-sized BMX bars, and they’re quite comfortable. Every BMX company on earth offers a similar handlebar, so talking about bends and sweeps and rises seems almost futile. Our recommendation: go to your favorite bike shop, feel every pair of bars on the wall and buy the ones you like best. If you get a chance to grab our JRI handlebars, we think you’ll be impressed.” - McGoo, SNAFU
