Tell us about your signature cranks… how long did you work on them? And what makes them yours?
We worked on them and tested them for about a year or year and a half. I just wanted something that would look as clean as possible and be as strong as possible. I haven’t had any break that I know of yet—so far so good.

Typically, how long does a set plastic pegs last you?
Depends on what kind of stuff I’ve been riding mostly at the time. Roughly two months I’d say. I try to rotate them and swap the back ones with the front ones since the back seem to get more lovin’.

How many years have you been riding your signature Mothership frame for? Have you ever thought about changing up the geometry, specs, or features a tad? Or are you pretty set?
I think it’s about five years or so now. We have done a couple little revisions the last few runs, but kept everything the same for the most part. However, I have been wanting to try some other stuff with the frame lately, so we’ll see what happens with that.

How often do you build a new bike? Do you usually put an entire new kit together or just change stuff out as needed?
Usually it’s just changing stuff out as I need it. About once a year I’ll get a whole new fresh setup. Just when it really starts feeling like crap is when I will I get a whole new one.

Couldn’t help but notice the knee brace you where wearing. How did you do it? What did you do? And what’s the latest with it?
Well, I was supposed to go to the new 4Down park and film a web thing, but the first try of the first thing I tried to film I smacked my knee on the ground and tore my PCL. Which is supposedly the best ligament you can tear if you’re going to tear one. Basically, I just need to keep my leg strong and ride with a brace for now. I’m just happy I can still ride! I will probably get it fixed at some point, it just doesn’t bother me enough to fix it at the moment

What are you looking forward to next… Spring, contests, trips?
Well, right now I’m getting ready for an éclat trip to Hong Kong and an Etnies trip to Austin—that’s what I’m looking forward to most right now. Basically the whole summer should be good—riding, friends, and trips!
