Modifications/Other/Extras:
I drilled a couple holes in my sprocket to fit a guard on it. It looks like hell, but it’s been pretty sturdy so far. I also put my grips on backwards, cut the flanges off, and then gave them a good stretch.

Which parts do you go through the most?
Cranks and wheels for sure. I am a big fella’ and I tend to land pretty hard and awkwardly.

Describe your bike setup and how you like your bike to feel…
It’s definitely set up for the taller rider. It’s comfortable, solid, and is the 24lb range, so it’s pretty light without been too squirrely.

Do you remember your first “real” BMX bike?
My neighbor had a Dyno VFR. It was technically his, but I spent more time on it then he did.

Is the guard sprocket custom-made? Why do you feel the need to protect your chain/sprocket so much?
That thing is definitely custom. I took an Odyssey MDS guard and drilled it to fit my Demolition sprocket. I’m not really trying to protect anything, it’s more so for doing crank slides. It keeps my sprocket from snagging on a rail and sending me into a gnarly face grinder.

Do all the Mirraco Chocolate frames come without a cap on the wishbone part of the chainstay? Seems like most frames have some kind of end cap back there…
As far as I know they are all like that. Personally I think it’s a heck of an idea. I don’t see how an end cap is really necessary. It’s certainly a place that weight can be saved without sacrificing strength. I give props to Mirraco, that frame weighs a little over 4.5 lbs and I have been riding it for 6 months with zero problems.

Your right pedal (on the side of the bike with two pegs) is really worn down… Most people tend to do pedal grinds on their non-grinding side. Why is yours different?
The pedal on my right side is really worn down mostly from doing magic carpet grinds (front peg and pedal grinding). I have never been into a lot of grip on my pedals so it doesn’t bother me that much.

Growing up and riding with Smoker Dave, how has he influenced your riding and style?
Smoker Dave went from being basically my childhood hero to one of my best friends. The influence he has had on my riding and personality is unreal. He definitely taught me to think outside the box and he really showed me a different approach to riding street.
