New parks have been popping up everywhere. There is a new park about one hour east of Melbourne?Warragul Skatepark. This place is awesome and has a huge, super-smooth bowl and a fun little street course. The bowl has a smooth six-foot hip and some five footers, also a big 270-degree vert bowl section. There’s also Drouin Skatepark about ten minutes away, which is heaps of fun, also. Really smooth (read: slippery) bowl, and a few boxes and rails. o A new park has opened on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Caloundra. Aquatic Skatepark has heaps of bowls linked with spines and hips. Go to www.sk8parx.com for more info on all the Australian parks. o The first video from Inertia Productions, titled Project One will be released by the time you read this. It focuses on a few riders, sort of a team video, but not an actual team (if that makes sense). I’m not sure how I will get a copy to you in the U.S., but e-mail dao@satlink.com.au and I will see what I can organize. o Luke Fink, Luke Weatherall, and Ryan Guettler have qualified for the street finals in the Australian X-Games, and both Luke’s and also Luke ‘Puppa’ Parslow have qualified for the dirt finals. I have no idea what it is with people named Luke. o The Globe World Cup Skateboarding championships will be in Sydney around February, and the course they are building for it looks absolutely nuts! I’m just wondering whether it will be available to ride for BMXers, or whether they will put the ramps somewhere useable after the World Cup is finished. o There is a new park in Penrith, New South Wales. It has a nice smooth concrete bowl with some huge transfers available if you have the testicular girth. o The Drainkids from Queensland have released a new video, titled Life In The Gutter. These guys are some badass street riders, and this video is a must see. Especially if you enjoy mud. Go to www.kickassbmx.com or www.drainkids.com for more info. o Melbourne rider Pete Radivo is recovering from a full knee reconstruction at the moment. o If you have any information regarding omps/demos/results/injuries in Australia, e-mail me at dao@satlink.com.au and I will add it.
