Drew Hosselton has been known to ride his Volume fixie to find new spots, reps Phoenix, AZ, loves them crankarm grinds, respects street legends and trail bosses alike, and has a knack for finding some pretty cool stuff to ride, too.

Best ways to find new spots:
1. Take a different way home from work everyday.
2. Skateboarders, I ride with a couple and they are always taking me to new spots.
3. Hop on the fixie. I love hopping on my fixie, putting on headphones, and riding around some random industrial park. Even if I come up empty handed I still enjoy just riding around.
4. Google Earth can be more miss than hit, but if you know where a certain ditch or stair set might be it can make it a little easier.
5. iPhones are good for keeping track of spots. You can take a photo of a spot, save its location, and get directions back to it.

Favorite cities you have ridden:
1. Tucson, Arizona, is BMX’s best-kept secret.
2. Albuquerque, New Mexico, is almost as good as Tucson, just with a little more methheads.
3. Phoenix, Arizona—hometown pride.
4. Austin, Texas, only because of 9th street. Even if you don’t ride dirt that place is awesome.
5. Downtown Long Beach, California, has a ton of really fun spots all within riding distance.

Tricks you never grow tired of doing:
1. Crankarm grinds—the new hotness.
2. Carving pools and/or weird tranny.
3. High-speed tire slides.
4. Smith-to-180s. Street cred?
5. Tabletops—on the rare days I can do them.

Riders who inspire you:
1. Steven Hamilton circa Road Fools 12.
2. Smoker Dave is a legendary rider and awesome friend.
3. Tate Roskelly rules. I wish I could come up with the stuff he does.
4. The Gonz in his prime was definitely the biggest influence on my riding.
5. Brian Foster, the dude has been killing it so hard for so long.

Reasons you ride weird obstacles/set-ups:
1. I can’t do double trucks.
2. In all reality, I’m not a very skilled or dialed rider. I rely on using my thinking cap and finding cool spots.
3. I get bored riding just stock spots or skateparks.
4. There are enough people doing vader footjams or no-handers down stairs.
5. I live with a photography student, so we are always trying to find setups that would make for a cool photo.

Drew gapped from the first ledge into this Smith grind with his peg on the last ledge and his wheel on the middle ledge, it was a quick one and I was a millisecond too late with the photo—hence his wheel coming off the ledge. —Zielinski
