My first introduction to Brian Foster was at a 1992 photo shoot consisting of tire testing and mudslides. I didn’t know much about Brian at the time and he had no clue who I was, but he still slung himself through three feet of muck for a photo that he eventually got cropped out of.

European contests are way different than any comp you run across in the States, and the annual FISE (Festival International Sport Extreme) is a good example. The contest used to be held on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea in the South of France, but now it’s held just up the road in Montpellier. As a city, Montpellier is pretty cool, but the site where the contest is held, well… it’s basically a big field of dirt.
