The famous ‘Monster Ripped Claw’ logo will run on top amateur and professional athletes across the country in this one-of-a-kind sponsorship program – conceived by the popular energy drink brewer and SponsorHouse.com
CARLSBAD, Calif., (April 6, 2005) – Combining its loyalty to action sports and tapping into the energy of its athletes and participants, Monster Energy Drink announced today that it has created a cutting edge sponsorship program geared towards locating and sponsoring – on three different levels – top amateur and professional athletes from coast-to-coast in motocross, bmx, downhill mountain biking, surf, skate, snow and other cutting edge action sports.
Dubbed the “Monster Army,” the program is managed through a new online sponsorship system, MonsterArmy.com, that is ‘Powered by SponsorHouse.com’ and allows Monster Energy to coordinate ‘easily and paper-free’ with, potentially, every action sport athlete in the United States. The Monster Army will give athletes an opportunity to apply online for Monster Energy Drink sponsorship through this unique Internet-based sponsorship management system.
“Targeting individual action sports has had an incredible impact on the sales and image for Monster Energy Drink,” said Scott Sepkovic, President of Crown AMG. “The Monster Army will start with action sports, which has a highly structured grass roots competition program, to implement this nationwide sponsorship program opportunity – via the Internet.”
Sepkovic continued: “We see this as getting big real quick. And, if it succeeds with action sports like we predict it will, then the natural progression of the Monster Army program will be to branch out to other markets like music bands and other properties.”
According to SponsorHouse.com President Scott Tilton, the concept for the Monster Army, where Internet technology is utilized to streamline the management of a sponsorship program and showcase athletes online is one that has been taking place for years. SponsorHouse.com was started by Tilton and business partner, RJ Kraus back in 2001 and is now utilized by more than 300 companies and 8,000 athletes in the action sport and motorsports industries.
“The Monster Army program will do away with the expensive and wasteful paper trail as athletes will apply for sponsorship consideration electronically via Monster Energy Drink’s online sponsorship management system, MonsterArmy.com,” said Tilton. “Athletes create an account, build a custom profile and proposal, and then submit their application for consideration to become part of the Monster Army. The ‘General’ at Monster Energy HQ will have tools available to quickly screen and identify the best candidates for the program and assign them to a specific sponsorship level. Selected athletes are automatically featured on MonsterArmy.com with a sponsored athlete bio.”
“The Monster Army program will offer athletes sponsorship packages on three levels,” explained Tilton. “Athletes at each level will receive a designated amount of Monster Energy Drink product and promotional goods. An athlete’s level is assigned based on their experience and overall exposure they can bring to the Monster Energy brand.”
The three sponsorship packages being offered include:
Captain *** – Highest level of product consideration, promotional goods and exposure
Sergeant ** – Middle level program with limited product consideration and discounts
Private * – Entry level program with discounts on product and promotional goods
The complete Monster Army sponsorship website where athletes can begin applying for consideration is slated to launch at thhe end of this month. In the meantime, if you ride motocross, BMX, MTB, Snocross, Kart, ATV, Road Race or Jetski…head over to www.sponsorhouse.com and submit your application to Monster for early consideration.
