Press Release:
In 1997 Standard Byke Company released the original TrailBoss, a thick and beefy bike built specifically for the trails. Over the years the TrailBoss was phased out as technology advanced and the original design of the TrailBoss was never really messed with. Fast forward 12 years and add in the element of complete control of the manufacturing process and Standard’s full scale implementation of “On Demand BMX”, a custom order for every rider is now possible and the TrailBoss has returned.
With the options unlimited, Rick and the guys in the shop were tasked with recreating an original SBC frame that many, many riders hold the utmost reverence for; it had to stand out, it had to be prefect. From the beefed up front end to the OG slammed geo of the rear end, the new TrailBoss is a bruiser. The 2009 version is available with an optional 3/8? or 14mm dropout and an optional Classic SBC gusset in the front. The new seat stays are tapered, where the original had straight 3/4? stays. Brake mounts and post locations are also optional.
And with all that added beef and slick custom work, the new 2009 TrailBoss comes in over a pound lighter than the original.
The first runs of the new issue will come with the same custom hand painted stencil work that the original prototypes came with. The 2009 TrailBoss is available in this version now through our SBC, or with custom work “On Demand”. Email info@standardbyke.com or call 563.323.4894 for a quote.

Sick! I have an original trls 250 same as the old one in the pictures. It served a long life. And is now retired due to cracks in the seat tube seat stay joints and the rear end being a bit bent.

Evin,
You should contact the Standard office about getting that thing fixed and preserving it.

Still got my original Trailboss, think it was one of the last good ones before they got overbuilt with straight guage stays etc.
Good to see SBC re-releasing it
