Pro Q&A: Brian Kachinksy

Brian Kachinsky brings all his equipment on the bus. Supreme alpha male. Can wear funny hats without question. Will not, under any circumstance, stop. Although sometimes he just can’t. Prefers to urinate with his clothes off. Has not been on Jerry Springer…yet. Speaks every language, as long as it’s English. Has done a nose manual in sub-zero temperatures. When Starbucks doesn’t have a meatloaf latte, he makes it for them. If Honda went out of business, Kachonda would be started the very next day. Went to the mile high club on the third floor. You can’t fuck with this man. You can not fuck with this man.

Ask Brian any question in the comment section below. Any.

  • Patrick Kelly Says:

    Brian:
I’ve noticed from coverage and web videos that you can nose wheelie with or without a front brake and have really been pushing them: down rails, onto rails, onto second stage rails, etc. How would you describe the differences in techniques, and do you have any pointers for someone learning the front brake variety?
Thank you, and I personally hope you don’t crash today

  • Hilson Says:

    Brian,

A while back I had a dream I bought an almost new Honda. At first I was surprised, “Whoa, when did I buy this Honda….I don’t remember buying a Honda.” Then I started getting mad, “Why did I spend money on a new car, and why did I get a Honda?” Next I became curious and got out of the car for a further inspection and noticed it wasn’t the newest body style, but the one before. Finally I ended up wishing I would have spent a little more money and went the extra mile and got the newest one. I was bummed that yours was one style newer than mine………… What do you think this means? Would you be psyched if I got a Honda in real life? If I got one newer than yours, do you think you would have “Honda Envy” dreams about it? Do you ever race?

  • blaker Says:

  • Ryan Fudger Says:

I’m going to ask a question that I consider to be important. Have you ever experienced a situation where you were confident in what you wanted to do, but you were (or felt as if you were) surrounded by people that weren’t? I know that when we’ve been shooting photos, I’ve had my opinions on the situation…like, “well, he may fall…hard,” but I always know you’re capable at the same time. Lastly, when was the last time you were scared…seriously scared?

Not questioning your manhood at all here, but what are your thoughts on property rights, and property damage caused by street riding? Is there a way to ride street that is less destructive so ‘normal people’ have more respect for the sport? For what it’s worth, I am in awe of your athleticism.

    Flow on,

    John

  • T.j. Bennett Says:

Usually during an interview the classic question comes up,”what would you be doing if you didn’t have bmx?” Bmx starts as a hobby and ends up being what most consider a “life-style”. For you it’s that and a job. Instead of wondering where you would be without bmx i was wondering if you feel content living the life you have or if there’s more to you that you would like to do someday like pushing yourself involving something other than bmx..something that doesn’t come natural. I’m not saying you’re a slouch because i know what dedication bmx takes and what you’ve done for the sport. Thanks T.j.

Oh one more thing the geometry on your frame rocks and so do the colors… you should give the option of a steeper headtube and see through red(like crayola red not dark or deep). I love you
and tapered seatstays with a curved bridfe and flute holes at the end of the tubing near the dropouts and lower the seattube height a little and make the seattube angle 72 i love you again.

  • Oheezy Says:

You and KP ran into me once while snappin photos and invited me to UIC with you goons
