How-To Barspin With Hoang Tran
You know, it’s where you let go of the handle bars and they magically spin around 360 degrees before you grab onto them again. Yeah, that trick… Hoang teaches you how to do it on a bank so you can build up your street cred.

his barspins are sick. not as good as dakota roche’s or chase dehart’s but good as shit.
i think they are easier to do on banks too. I cant do them consistently anywhere else.
Yaw
fucking rain i want to go learn
yeah rain blows…i hate it.
fucking stupid motorstorm commercial!!! it wont stop playing!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
shut that motorsoar ad up!
HIS B-SPINS ARE GOOD….BUT I HONESTLY THINK NATHAN WILLIAMS SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS HOW TO…:)
OMFG that fucking motorstorm ad is fucking pissing me off !!!!!!!!!!
what motorstorm ad ??
Dude..thats the widest handle bars ive ever seen but still nice!
he’s def got the best bar spins they just look sweet and hearing about nathan williams all the time is annoying this guys got way better bar spins
best barspins ever are garrett reynolds ones, and there’s no discussion! haha
anyone notice the shot after he says you can do them off jumps and boxes, is that a fat sumo man squatting taking a crap on the banks?
whats next? mike spinner teaching lookbacks? the worst how to ever! dont listen to it it will never work
your fucking gay dude.

very informative, thanks for the tips. sweet style.
Wa-what up cuz
thats crazy
thats pretty gross… someone graffitied a fat guy taking a dump on the bank
i have been trying to learn them 4 ages, hope this helps
where is this?
he catches the one side of his bars before the other thays why his look different then other peoples
thats deffo not a bars even tho he does them odd??
get uk’s james cox or ratboy or even dan and joe cox..even waffle or cookie!!
tbh this is just bad bad bad…sorry
i think they look sick!
but ahh those bars are super wide, i dont know how ppl bar with wides i hit my knee with 22’s
22? thats the smallest bars ive ever heard of!
now that i think of it they are way easier on banks..i think wide bars in some ways are better for bar spins think about it..its more to catch..i ride northwest bars not cut at all and i think i can throw them way better than a pair of 25’s or even 26’s..28’s are where its at..just my opinion though..
Alright, it seems that the comments when all over the place, I’m not interested on being a critic of the sport or of the minds you guys have (some of you) that let you arrive to such limited conclusions. I think necessary to set some concepts straight. I have a little bit of time so this is what I think.
There’s no right side to which throw the bars. You can turn to the left be goofy footed and throw the bars down or up, or any other combination. There is a more common way, but there’s so much variety in the way people grow up and learn stuff that to set one combination as the right one (regular footed, spin bars up {what ever side the turn be} ) would be dogmatize freestyle bike riding.
Also, yes there’s other people that does perhaps better looking barspins, not only the riders that are all over the bmx media…have Zeb Wlliam show you one of those or Ian Munro or so many others…the gonz would do a double… anyways but Hoang is teaching the basic idea, learn bunyhop barspin, bunnyhop on a bank with the body on a barspin position, to get the knees out of the way, then throw the bars. It’s up to the learner put his own style after some serious dedication.
Then comes a question of style which is tricky to judge, but you can tell when someone is stiff or not fully committed, things feel good when they flow naturally. Personally I find his to be nice, he is not pinching the seat (sort of an extra gadget) he seems relaxed, etc; so we get to see the Hoang’s version of a bunnyhop barspin on a bank for the purpose that hopefully someone would get a better idea of how to do it….
Another thing is the effects of a bigger or smaller spining radius. 9 years ago I had really small bars (width) and they spun fast and they were easy to catch,,I think I’ll have to experiment with different bars to see the effects…well, thanks for reading this, cheers.
the rain up here will be over finally tomorrow….
Hey ” Me ” this bank is in treasure Island…SF
no, i didn’t like it… this video is really informative but i don’t like his style..
that guy has a super sick style. those barspins are one of a kind. that helped a lot. thx dude. keep up that gnarly shit
totally agree dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
were talking about barspins not banks though… so yea!
ok, i do barspins the same way mr. hoang does them just that im different footed. i ride with my left foot forward and throw with my right . if i were to do barspins on a bank , which im going to try as soon as i stops raining, i would spin to the right and throw with my right hand. there really is no right or wrong way to do barspins just as long as you get them done
watch his video on Subrosa it is SICK
