In the April issue of Transworld BMX you’ll find an article about racing’s fastest amateurs. We had originally picked Augusto to be one of the guys in the article, but it took awhile to hear back from him with his interview questions, and by the time we did, the issue was about to go to press. Although I thought the article turned out pretty good, I was bummed that we were only able to include a mention of him; he definitely deserved a photo and the full interview treatment. So, to help remedy that situation, we’re running his interview here. Maybe, just maybe, if you go to a lot of big NBL races (or the ABA Grands), you’ll spot him — he’ll be the one killing 16 Expert.

Augusto killed it at the NBL Grands last year; two wins in 15 Expert and 14-15 Open. To say he had Louisville’s first straight wired would be an understatement.  credit: Keith Mulligan
