Technology is a great thing. See, Aaron Ross loves talking, but he hates typing. But then Apple invited this hoe named Siri that can take everything Aaron says and type it out for him. So, after hassling Aaron a couple of times, he and Siri did this collaboration (Aross x Siri) to explain his bike. Enjoy! —@fyanrudger

What were you doing before this? What are you doing after?
After this email? Well, you sent me this about a month ago and clearly I’ve slacked pretty hard…but today I was watching the Olympics and during answering these I’ve been watching the Olympics and after I bet I’ll continue to watch the Olympics. It’s freezing (literally 28 degrees) outside, so it’s an inside super “chill” hiding out day. I’m hoping that tacos just appear though…
Although your bike has a lot of colors, it isn’t really colorful. Were you ready to step away from the bright colors?
Hmmm, I don’t think it’s stepping away as much as it’s trying something different. We’ve had a lot of these ideas for years and it’s just picking when and where we do them. More colorful ideas, but who knows when they will get used. It was rad to ride the all black bike in The Bakery edit and see how people handled it. Pretty funny.
What’s the weirdest situation you’ve ever been put in because of the color of your bike?
Haha…hmmm, I don’t think anything “weird”… The colorful bikes always got a lot of attention from random people riding around the city. Pretty funny.
Were jelly beans the motivation behind this colorway?
The bike was the motivation behind the jelly bean idea…. $135 bucks on 35lbs of jelly beans and they have all been eaten now.
What’s the weirdest Instagram comment you’ve ever gotten?
Haha, man I have no idea… Probably the ones from @fyanrudger about answering these questions… I get some pretty weird comments…follow me on Instagram @theaaronross
Why do you ride so much dirt?
I grew up racing, riding dirt, and street. It’s just something I’ve always loved. Can’t beat the feeling of jumping. I’ve been riding a lot of trails the last few weeks and it’s been too good.
You have a freecoaster now. Explain.
I’ve actually gone back and forth for a long time… As a lot of people probably know, I’ve always been into doing a lot of backwards stuff, so I guess it just opens up more possibilities for me…. I’ve had a few things I’ve wanted to do for years and I’ve tried over and over and I haven’t been able to do it with a cassette, so maybe a freecoaster is the answer… Secrets for now
Did you modify any parts or do anything special to your bike?
Nope. I’ve never cared much; I just ride it.
What’s 2014 looking like? Can we hang out?
Yes. Let’s shoot that interview??
Any new/different/changes to any signature parts?
Lots of changes soon.
Are you hyped to film another Etnies video part?
Yes! I’m just ready to put some work into a project. Have so many ideas in my head and I wanna get them out and done.
What part (or angle of a part/frame/etc.) are you most particular about on your bike?
Hmm, maybe bar positioning? I’m not that picky. I don’t replace anything from when I build a new bike to when I get a new one. Tires and grips is about it, so I just ride them how they are.
What else is really specific to you when it comes to bike setup?
I can’t answer this question without thinking about @jarodswagford making fun of my bike every time he sees it…. He’s always giving me a hard time because my pegs will be loose or my pedals or chain. I just don’t care…I just ride it. So besides bars being in the right spot, I don’t really care. I like when the back wheel is perfectly in true? But who doesn’t?
Thanks to @fyanrudger for being my friend. Thanks to Povah at Etnies for being my friend. Thanks to Jim Bauer and everyone at Odyssey and Sunday for being my friends. Thanks to Joy at fox for being my friend. Thanks to Tina and Tom for being my BMX mom and dad. Thanks to Ryan Fudger for proof reading this… Thanks to Ryan Fudger for putting up with this mess. Thanks to the Texas weather for forcing me to be stuck inside and giving me nothing better to do than finally answer these questions. Thanks to no one for the tacos that haven’t been delivered. Last, but never least, thanks to my family for always being there for me and thanks to my sister for making and bringing over the crème brûlée I’m currently eating for breakfast… You da bomb.
