How long do you typically ride a bike before building a new one? Do you switch out parts as they go? Or just build a whole fresh kit?
I build up a bike about twice a year. I dislike a bike that feels like crap, but I also don’t like a new bike until I break it in.
What parts do you change out the most often and why?
Grips, hubguards, pedals. I grind a bunch so hubguards are the first to get warped. And once I get a tear or hole in my grips they need to go ASAP.
What are you most particular about on your bike?
How my chain is runnin’—it needs to be tensioned the way I like it.
