We did a street riding basic series a while back and it feels fitting to drop a roundup of how tos for those that keep it to the parks. With the high level of riding of park riding these days, it’s easy to see that lots of kids miss the fundamentals of riding and head straight towards the stunts–thankfully, we’ve shown how to take care of plenty of fundamental moves in our series of how tos. If you want to learn how to air out, kick a tireslide across the quarter, crank a turndown, or make it around your local park while looking what you’re doing, click through and see how your favorite pros do it on the ramps.
One of the best fundamentals you can learn? Airing a quarter properly. I’ve seen Dave Mirra case a box jump backwards, pump the hell out of the ramp, and still air out of a nine foot quarter higher than normal–because he knows how to air out. Let SoCal ripper Matt Cordova let you in on some secrets on how to roast to the moon.
