Before the explosion in popularity of public concrete parks over the last few years, a ditch was probably the closest thing a lot of riders had to a concrete ramp. And sometimes, depending on how sick the ditch is, like Home Ave. in San Diego, or Five Hip in Austin, Texas, it could be just as fun (or more), than an actual park. Regardless of how great the parks are today, there’s something about riding things that weren’t made with that intent that will never get old. That’s why when you discover a ditch with “banks that feel like a quarterpipe” it’s like finding gold. Here are over 60 photos of riders sessioning some of the most fun, unique, well known, and not so well known ditches, dams, and more from all over the world.
