How long have you been living in New York for?
I’ve been in New York for almost two years now. It’s been fun; riding with Edwin everyday, just chillin’. I dunno. I think it might be time for a little bit of change.
How did you end up in New York in the first place?
Edwin invited me out there for a Red Bull contest and then I met my chick and we stayed there ever since. Moved in together and been there ever since. But now, it might be time to move on.
I heard you might have thought about North Carolina but today you were talking West Coast. What are you thinking right now?
I was gonna go to NC with my chick, but it sounds like it’s not going to work out too well. So now, I think I might just move back to the west, try and keep it a little more local; try and get more photos and shit, try and meet up with (Jeff) Z. all the time.
Is that something you find difficult to do in New York?
Nah, it’s easy, there’s just so much to f****** choose from. There’s so many…it’s just hard. (Rob) Dolecki’s been good. He’s been shooting me whenever; he’ll come out whenever. Bob (Scerbo), he kills it with the camera, he’s down to film. I dunno. It seems like a time to move on. I’ve been there for almost two years now; it should be good to get out and live it up in the West again. I don’t know where yet, but we’ll figure it out.
What type of PSI are you running?
I used to run my tires real hard, then my wrists started hurting all the time. I run about 50 in the back, 50 in the front. Keep it a little softer, good for the drops, it grabs a lot, it’s real grippy.
How did the deal with Animal come about? Just living in New York?
Just like anyone else, I wanted to be on Animal my whole life and when Edwin invited me out for that contest and I moved out, I started filming with Bob all the time; filming filming filming. I got put on at the beginning of this year, and it’s gonna be good from here on out. It’s been good and it’s gonna be good. I’m psyched.
Is that something you’re stoked on, just being a part of rider owned and small knit companies?
Yeah, I just like the OG companies of BMX. S&M’s the OG of OG. Animal, same shit, OG. It’s good quality parts, everything S&M is American made, everything Animal is strong as shit, you can’t go wrong. You can’t really f*** it up.
How do you like your bike setup overall?
No pegs, that’s for sure. I run left hand drive just to keep the chain out of the way when I’m grinding. I put a little washer up front so I have a little bit more to grind on. I started riding my seat a little higher now, just so it’s a little more comfortable to cruise. I run my bars nice and tall ’cause I’m real tall.
Any thanks, shoutouts, whatever?
Shoutout to S&M Bikes, Animal Bikes, Lotek Shoes, and Quintin. And thank you, for supporting the cause.
