Woodward Camp just opened their newest location—Woodward Tahoe at Boreal Mountain Resort in California—about 40 minutes from Reno, Nevada. The new camp is focused more on snowboarding and skiing, but with an indoor concrete park and ramps, an outdoor mini, and trails in the woods, it’s well suited for BMX.
The Grand Opening saw a rad pro turnout. Ryan Nyquist, Anthony and Ronnie Napolitan, Drew Bezanson, Rooftop, Dakota Roche, Alex Kennedy, Chris Fox, Jared Eberwein, Big Daddy, Mike Saavedra, Nate Wessel, Mike Laird, and many more were on hand to check out the new park/ramps, and demo for the public. Most of the riding was in the main ramp building—The Bunker, with heavy sessions on the concrete and Skatelite ramp/resi/foam park. There was also a good session on the outdoor mini with Nyquist, Rooftop, Chris Fox, and Jared Eberwein throwing down with a bunch of pro skaters including Tony Hawk and Mike Vallely. The trails weren’t built yet, but Mike Saavedra and his brother Sal are currently there doing a two-week build. With those two behind the machines and shovels, you know the jumps are going to be good, and worth a trip.
