So riding is going to be pretty fresh for you now, huh? You’ll be healthy and riding a new setup–and how did you end up riding a Fit?
It’s definitely motivation, that’s for sure. It’s going to be nice to get back on it with a fresh new bike and especially the new Fit hook up. To be honest I was stressing real hard after hurting my knee since that was my second bad injury of the year, for sure wasn’t expecting any kind new sponsors. The Fit deal came about from my friend Nathan Parker giving me a call and us talking about all aspects of riding from being hurt, to different companies that we were into. Fit was brought up in the talk and Nathan ended up hitting up Van [Homan]. A week or two later I got a call from Van…I was freaking out! Big shout out to Fit for hooking me up while being hurt!
As mentioned, you’re either on your bike or about to get back on it after ACL surgery. What’s your status on that and how hyped are you being 100% again?
I’m so close to being back on the bike again, I have at appointment to see Dr. Chao later this week and I’m hoping to get the OK to start with some light riding within a few weeks. It’s been a struggle to try to keep the wheels on the ground but it’s not worth playing around to early to risk going back through 6 months of hell.

Morgan is still running Stolen components and is running Stolen's cranks, sprockets, and pedals.
You’re no longer riding a Stolen frame, but you are still riding Stolen parts–how are things with them these days? Do you guys have anything lined up for 2012?
I’m still rocking the Stolen components. There was talk about a late summer trip that I’m hoping happens. Other than that not much new going on there.
You’re on the Dan’s Comp pro team. Are you going to be out and about, making moves and filming for the DVD?
Yeah I know they are planning on doing a lot of trips so I’ll be trying to tag along on as many as possible. This will be my first chance to film for a DVD so I want to make that my main focus and put all I can into it. Having a DVD section that I’m stoked on is one of the main goals I’ve had with riding, I can’t wait to see how the video turns out with such a crazy team.
Similarly, Fit is doing a DVD. Will you be working on getting clips for that this year as well?
Stew is in charge of both the Dan’s and Fit DVDs so I’m hoping to film as much as possible and get some clips for the Fit DVD as well. We will see.
What are you particular about on your bike setups? What types of bikes do you like to ride?
I’m pretty particular on my frame and bar geometry, and I have to have a half link chain. I liked bike to be tall, dialed, fast and noise free.

Morgan is particular about his bar geometry and chooses to run the Inman OT bars.
What’s up with your living situation? You guys have a pretty rad pad in Long Beach…
We got a pretty sweet spot above a 98 cent store. Its a rare spot for LB where we can all park in the parking lot and the landlords are chill. The whole apartment is full with 5 people all from my hometown Quincy, IL. All of us ride besides one and there are always people from out of town crashing on the floor. Pretty stereotypical BMX crib, just with a go kart and motorcycle in the living room.
What do you have planned for the future? You’ve gotta be really hyped on riding at full power again and being in a great place to do so…
Once I’m 100% again I would like to bang out a edit for Fit and show them some love, then focus on working on stuff for the Dan’s DVD. Other than that try to tag along on any road trips that come up and stay healthy. I will be all smiles once I’m back on riding with plenty of reasons to be hyped.
Any last words, thanks, or shout outs?
Of course. First off, thanks to all my sponsors for the support Dan’s Comp, Stolen, Fit, and CEM. Shout out to all my room mates, anyone that’s has ever filmed or shot photos of me, all the websites that have ever posted up my stuff, and anyone having fun on there bike. Thanks to Ride for the bike check. Yeeeeeww!
We also hit up Fit to see what they had to say about flowing Morgan some product and got this response from Van Homan:
Its pretty simple, if a guy like Morgan is excited about riding a Fit then we are excited about giving him one. Hes an amazing rider and with Shawn McIntosh having his back it was an easy decision to flow him a bike.
