Normally “lost footage” edits throw me off–how can one lose so much good footage, just like that? I’ve never had an incident yet with losing footage (knock on wood) but sometimes, stuff just gets forgotten about. The video above is a perfect instance. Ryan Fudger came to town to shoot the Chicago Scene Report while I was still living in the Windy City, and offered me a chance to make a video for RideBMX.com. Unfortunately, busy travel schedules after the Scene Report and a lack of communication on both of our parts made this video never see the light of day until now. With a recent relocation to Southern California on my end, a fairly new job as Associate Online Editor with Ride, and finally getting the time to sit back and reflect on all of the good times in the third largest city in the States, the video finally has made its way online. This is a pretty good representation of what you can find yourself doing on any given day in Chicago–mess around at some street spots (unless you’re Brian Kachinsky, in which case, you drop hammers), take in some views of the city, hit The Garden for a trails session, and head to the city’s best cement park, Wilson, to cap it all off. Timmy Theus, Brian Kachinsky, Chicago turned Long Beach, CA resident Kevin Porter, Josh Eilken, Eric Block, and Matt Van Acker all had photos in the magazine and all make an appearance in the video above–thanks to the Chicago locals for keeping the scene alive!
