Wind can be a real bitch, especially when you’re flying through the air on a bicycle. The magnitude of breeziness didn’t make the technical jumps any easier, either. So the end result were a lot of dialed riders looking squirrelly, bailing, and pedaling between sets just to get through the jumps. The first heat of riders were a tad bit luckier, but the wind really picked up during the second heat. Climatic factors aside, the technically challenging jumps didn’t prevent Kyle Baldock, Ben Wallace, and Rob Armour from putting together some really polished lines with burly aerial trickery. Hopefully the skys will be more calm for the dirt finals on Sunday.
