AUSTRALIAN COMPETITOR BRANDON LOUPOS TAKES FINAL SPOT ON GATORADE FREE FLOW TOUR BMX ROSTER
Burr Ridge, Ill. – August 1, 2011 – The Gatorade Free Flow Tour closed the 2011 BMX park season at the Mission Valley YMCA in Clairemont Calif. this past weekend. The three-year host park saw a pack of Australians contest the local riders, and in the end Brandon Loupos topped the podium and paved his own path to the Finals.
Mission Valley pulled the last of the BMX hopefuls looking to earn their place on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals roster, including Australian rider Loupos, who ultimately took the first place finish with his bar spin to tail whip, front flip drop in and tuck no hander. Taking a close second was twenty-one-year-old Kohl Denney from San Diego Calif. and third place finisher was Gold Coast rider, nineteen-year-old Jack Fahey.
“Gatorade really knows how to put on a sick contest,” said Loupos. “I’ve had such a blast in the states and now I get to stay longer!”
“Another successful competition today. turnout was great, the level of riding was ridiculously high and everyone had a great time,” said Mission Valley park director Laszlo Kelemen. “It’s always a pleasure working with Gatorade and Alli and we can’t wait to have the tour back next year!”
Loupos will be attending the BMX park Finals in Portland, Ore. in conjunction with the Dew Tour Portland Invitational on August 11-14. The overall winners from the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals earn a prequalified spot in the Dew Tour Championships, where they will compete with the pros in Las Vegas this October.
