What were your goals when designing this product?
Developing our new Erlkoenig cranks, we decided to go back to the basis and offer a simple and strong three-piece crank with 48 splines. No crazy welds or unnecessary gimmicks, just a classic crank based on a trusted design. Like our Hindenburg three-piece cranks in the past, the Erlkoenig comes with a light Ti6Al4V titanium hollow spindle and a reasonable price.
Why are your cranks better than others, or what makes them different from others on the market?
The crank has a simple three-piece design, but still we wanted to innovate and offer more than a basic crank. The Erlkoenig crank is the first crank ever to feature fluted CrMo crank arms. Function and strength have been tested extensively in labs and by our riders. With improved squared shape, our exclusive crank arms are very stiff, solid and light. In addition it comes directly with a Ti6Al4V titanium hollow spindle, which results in the lightest crank set on the market.
