Nineteen-year-old Callais from Concord, Calif. earned the BMX park victory at Ramp Rats with a finals jam session that showcased his highflying skills as he utilized the fly box for tricks that included a truck driver, back flip and huge air to flat. Fellow Californian Robbie DeCelle finished the contest in second, and Nick Happel out of Las Vegas, Nev. rounded out the podium in third.

A first time Finalist on the Gatorade Free Flow Tour, Callias put in a lot of work leading up to this goal, saying, “I just rode as much as I could to get to this point.”

Said park owner Mike Krnaich of the event, “I’m happy with the contest, and it seemed like everybody had a great time!”

With the win, Callias earns a prequalified spot in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, held in conjunction with the Dew Tour in Portland, Ore. The official amateur tour of the Dew Tour, Callais will compete on the professional Dew Tour course August 11-14, 2011 for a chance to compete with the professionals in October’s Dew Tour Championships.
