The second annual Warriors Of Wood contest wrapped up tonight in San Jose, and once again TJ Ellis took home the win. Check out the results and nearly 40 photos here, then be on the lookout for a video from the contest real soon.
The turnout this year was pretty slim, and of those who did show up and rode in the contest, not all of them actually made it through the jumps. These things were really big, and really unforgiving. However, when all was said and done, a ton of people had a great time, and some pretty awesome riding went down.
After having one of the best runs of the weekend in qualifying, Pat Casey couldn’t put it together quite as well in finals and wound up in third. And a big surprise came during the best trick contest when Cameron Birdwell landed a superman seatgrab peggrab. He had been hucking wild moves all day, and had really taken a beating, so it was rad to see him stick this one and have it pay off big.
