Modifications/Other/Extras:
Well, it’s a custom frame, which is the main mod. Everything else is pretty much stock.

Which parts do you go through the most?
Pedals, weirdly. I always break the studs out and get all paranoid about it and have to change them! Yeah, pedals.

Describe your bike setup and how you like your bike to feel…
Simple, fast, smooth. I like it to feel super fast and solid, no rattles or creaks. I take pretty take good care of it.

What part are you most particular about or do you feel makes the biggest difference on your bike?
I think the frame or the bars. Honestly, though, I feel like I always adapt to whatever. Sometimes it’s good to change things up on your bike to make you adapt a little bit—keeps things fresh.

Do you remember your first “real” BMX bike?
In 1987 I got a Haro Sport. It was so sick, I couldn’t believe it. I’d always had such horrible, cheap bikes before that, but had got 3rd place at the World Championships that year, so my dad decided it was time to step up and get me a “real” bike. I was 13.

You normally run smooth, black tires…why did you put knobby, white tires on this bike?
I wanted to get some white tires to ride Bucky Lasek’s pool so I don’t leave tire marks. I saw the white Odyssey tires and asked Jim Bauer so he hooked me up.

Also, I know you normally run about 130PSI in your tires when riding vert, so how are these white tires that only hold 100PSI going to work out for you?
Well, I got 120 in them and Jim Bauer from Odyssey promised me they’ll be fine. We’ll see! It’ll be fun to switch things up a bit.

When I met up with you to shoot this bike check you hadn’t ridden it yet…what are you going to do with your old (but still perfectly good) bike?
Keep the old one, ride it. Never really had two bikes before. I’ll probably end up just raping it for parts.
