Which parts do you go through the most?
I think tires and spokes. And then I think pedals from the bike hitting the ground.
Describe your bike setup and how you like your bike to feel…
I think it’s as simple as it can be having pegs and a brake. And I like it to feel fast and smooth.
What part are you most particular about or do you feel makes the biggest difference on your bike?
I will say bars… Not too big, not too small, and every detail makes a big, big difference.
Do you remember your first “real” BMX bike?
I do. It was a complete bike that was made in Spain that my mom bought me for my birthday. The bike was full chrome and had the tallest bars I have ever owned.
How often do you take your brakes off and put them back on?
Once in a while just to get some more control and just to see how solid and smooth the bike feels. But not too often because I’m scared that I may not put them back on.
Your bike looks pretty fresh right now…do you normally build a new bike from the ground, or just replace parts as needed?
I usually replace parts as I think I need them, but the last bike I had was really old and I was trying to keep it as long as I could, so everything was pretty much ready to be replaced.
Are you particular about the weight of your bike? Do you know how much this one weighs?
I have no idea how much it weighs. It feels good to me… I’m lucky to have the bike I have. I think is really strong for how much it weighs.
I don’t see any pegs on this bike, so why the left hand drive?
I didn’t get the pegs in the package, and the hub is the one I had for the past two years and it was working really well, so there was no reason to change it. I have been riding LHD hubs for so long that for me, this is the only way to go.

KP lives in Chicago. He owns and operates a coffee shop with his girlfriend (wife?). Know your history, your culture and do not make accusations.

February 28th, 2010 at 1:26 am
When you do a bike check if you just put flybikes…flybikes as a description for parts that doesn’t give us any information, brand and model would much more helpful. Fly Bikes makes lots of parts lets get specific here and this goes beyond this bike check as several others are similar.
